Can i trade retail for a pvp server that has a meta that’s actually fun and not a panic inducing slugfest? Idk “things need to die” seems like it would fall over as an argument against “game needs to be fun”

They hit the balance between things needing to die and being globalled around Cata. They called it “triage healing” for the healers. Both healing and damage used to not be so severe so one mistake wouldnt end a match but, instead, make the team fall behind. Defensives werent used as a trade quite as much as they were used to give the healer time to catch up.
I would say most games around 2200 mmr back im Cata lasted about 3-4 minutes playing PHDk. The problem was eventually healers just dropped off because healing was fairly stressful back then–an issue that was addressed by starting the dampening meta.

Imo I think retail in every aspect of the game needs huge reworks and changes. In PvP specifically, I feel less threatened by all the abilities on a board. It feels like there’s a lot more room for error and to be honest I think having a higher skill cap makes the game more rewarding
But hey, I’m only a warrior, I can only mortal strike as hard as my overpower will let me

2s is so dead that yesterday at 2400+ mmr there were only 2 other teams queueing, one of which was a 2750 CR Outlaw/Rdruid.

I mean, Seratox ran prot in 3s early on in Shadowlands after being stuck 2k as ret. Only makes sense they stick with a tank spec.

Yeah I think I did a few games in 3s to try it out, but it wasnt fun in 3s.
