PVP neglected

It’s kind of in the same boat as the other survey were it’s not really showing everyone, but it does show that pvp was much more popular at the start of Dragonflight. Dragonflight is also when sync abusers became the norm but I’m sure I will get attacked for saying that.

I’m not sure it’s a causal relationship, I’d be happy for a few fixes to issues which the data seems to support as justifiable. You don’t need to have everyone respond, for example 5000 polled in a well bracketed experiment is used to call the popular vote in the US elections. It can be misleading like the headline “Dewey Defeats Truman!”.

Important thing people might miss though is that even if PvP is the second most played mode, it’s also only 16% (21% if you include classic PvP) of the players who voted on said poll, which itself is only representative of the very small number of players who voted which are usually the more hard core players and thus not representative of the player base overall.

This was also when classic I think was popping off more, so skewing the results.
I wonder how the same poll would look halfway through season 1 of War Within. I bet much of the classic vote would go towards War Within PvE content.

It’s like a poll that asks people if they participate in polls.

“Our new poll shows that 100% of people say they participate in polls!”

It’s a question of representative sampling, it’s an estimate of the mean regardless but not necessarily a good one. I think the number of people responding is fine it’s just not a well bracketed experiment, like polling voters over the phone at a time when only rich people had phones leading people to think Dewey would win.

Lol that would be a weird poll. But that’s just what I was trying to say it polls aren’t always accurate so it should be taken with a grain of salt. I just wish blizzard would care about pvp.

All that poll shows is that one part of the playerbase is garbage enough to have a large number of Twitter accounts.

You can bring up the inherent inaccuracies of a twitter poll, but I don’t think it’s going to do anyone any favors to insult the people who voted.

If you think it’s grossly inaccurate then provide data to show that PvP content is as popular as PvE content. We can go back and forth over how accurate a poll is or whether we should insult people who vote in them all day long, but so far the only actual data posted in this thread has shown that PvE content is far more popular.

But again, if you, or anyone else, has any different information, please post it. I wish PvP was more popular. I WANT it to be more popular. But just insulting people isn’t going to make it so, and certainly such behavior will simply push away prospective new players in PvP.

Making stuff up like “look at player numbers” when any official statistics haven’t been posted since WoD is wild.

Anyone in this thread argueing that the pvp participation is more than a fraction of pve participation are liars.

That is all

The released the rough numbers last year wtf you on about lol you really need to check your facts before you make a fool of yourself.

I did point out that just because people say something is their main thing played, doesn’t mean they don’t play other parts of the game. So because 10% of the players say PvP defines their character doesn’t mean a lot more than that play PvP. My m+ friend pvps. I do m+. People dabble.

Again I’ll point out that holinka tweeted a long time ago that there were as much PvP going on as PvE. I’m sure the numbers aren’t that high anymore for PvP… But they’re still not as drastically low as you think they are.

Regardless BG’s in particular have been very neglected. Hopefully blitz brings some attention back. Rest of PvP has had some attention.

Also ps. Don’t bother arguing with the pally… They are completely inflexible and unwilling to listen to reason or look at facts. They also spam the forums all day long with new alts. Quite annoying and only hurts their cause. Best to put on ignore and chat with people who will actually talk to you.

I have agreed with them on some things wtf you even on about haha you trolls need to head back to Reddit. Just because someone doesn’t agree with you on everything doesn’t mean they don’t listen or won’t look at facts. You kids really need to grow up or move on.

I have tried to discuss things with you and you really don’t listen to reason. I told you I agree that sync premades are annoying but then you proceeded to argue with me nonsensically for 3 posts until I gave up…

Also your endless threads and multiple alts is annoying and is hurting your cause and the BG forums in general.

I have no idea who you even are. I have posted on 3 alts. Because I change my characters as I play. Bringing up a problem when it doesn’t get fixed isn’t a bad thing. It’s called bringing attention to a problem.

Yeah I completely agree that PvP hasn’t seen much new content.

I wish they’d add more battlegrounds than 1 every other expansion.
And I wish they’d bring back something like the invasions from BFA. Those were fun and were hotspots for world PvP.

That or revamp some of the old ones (in actual good ways… Not like taking out the cart and lazily making another node map only worse)

Agreed. This would be great.

One thing for me is I’d love some class bg balancing… Classes have been balanced around 3v3 forever and they have basically ignored bg balance (ie tank meta forever). Some specs are busted (mm) and some are absolutely trash in BG’s (enhance). We shall see, blitz has given me hope.

Most people dont know how to play the current ones (me included), why bring more problems to the table?

I think they need to fix what they have rather than introduce new content. We don’t need the same resources as PvE, if they give us good systems we can make our own fun. BGs are evergreen content though I do think there are some trees they should clear cut, PvP was better when it wasn’t rewards driven.

I feel like a fodder player in all their systems whether it be allowing the exploitation of epics, terrible matchmaking in regs where I’m used to fill in holes for bad teams, ratings fodder in arenas, or solo queue in a duo queue system for blitz. I don’t want to make a frigging career out of a pass time so they seem to make it intentionally a bad experience to cajole me into feeding their user stats. I’d prefer to do something more life affirming with the bulk of my free time.

Doesn’t need to be a new type of battleground. I’d be happy with a new CTF map and another 10 player 3-point control map.
