Seeing as MW keeps getting nerfed for some reason… let’s talk about (potential) buffs and/or other positive changes we’d like to see.
MONK
- Mistweaver
- Tiger’s Lust now also grants 3 seconds of immunity to movement impairing effects.
PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER
MONK
- Mistweaver
New PVP Talent: Corroding Mists - Vivify deals 25% of its healing as Nature damage to enemies within 5 yards of its target.
New PVP Talent: Run Like The Wind - Movement speed increased by 5%. Soothing Mist can now be channeled while moving.
Feel free to post any other ideas you might have and I can see about adding them if consensus supports it; also, feel free to discuss. I’m open to altering the n%’s of any values to keep things reasonable.
The first change to Tiger’s Lust stems from the fact that too many classes can just reapply a root or snare in the next global, thus negating the usefulness of Tiger’s Lust in a PVP (and especially BG) setting. If they’re going to go about nerfing MW because of BG performance, then they sure as heck can make sure all of our abilities are useful in BGs to compensate.
The next two suggestions are new PVP Talents as replacements for Dome of Mist, and the nearly dead Peaceweaver. Corroding Mists is a Corrosive Dosage-like effect (which really should have been brought back into the game by now, seeing as MW lacks damage), and the other is something a number of people have been asking for: SooM channel while moving. As PVP Talents, they do not affect PVE, so everyone can be happy.
I’m not 100% sure what n% value will be acceptable for Corroding Mists, but I’m shooting for something similar to CJL tick values - maybe a bit less. It’s not meant to be super powerful, but just a bit of extra damage contribution over the long-term. Note that Corroding Mists does not apply a ticking DoT, like Corrosive Dosage. It’s just a splash of short-range AoE damage centred on the Vivify target. Hopefully, that’ll make it easier to balance.
Run Like The Wind is a fun idea… but it has its problems. I’m not sure how viable it really would be, seeing as being able to break a SooM channel is pretty important to avoid kicks. Stutter-stepping a SooM channel is a common way to juke kicks - which you can’t do (very well) if SooM is channelable while moving. I’m not a big fan of having to make a stop-casting macro to make it functional. I posted it as a thought that we could discuss.
