PVP Isn't an Afterthought; It's Just Flawed

There’s a lot I could rant about, but I’ll just focus on these points:

Rating gating - They want you to climb, you need gear to climb, they lock your gear behind rating. This creates an incentive to either pay for a carry or to do other content to try to gain an edge. It will either cost you money or lots of your time just to START playing pvp seriously.

PVP gear - Even upscaled in pvp situations, there are still BiS items for pvp contained in other content, notably mythic raid gear which will allow domination sockets on pieces that otherwise can’t be socketed.

Time gating - nothing like waiting weeks at a time to farm conquest because you’re capped out to a tiny number per week. Really makes the process of gearing fun and makes your time feel worth it.

I won’t pretend I’m good at pvp in this game, but I gave it an honest shot and feel like I wasted my time and money. Hoping they fix things for the rest of you though because this is not good or fun.

Yeah, you can also buy a carry as stated. Or are we gonna pretend skill actually beats gear here?

A lot of people pushed for gear without gear. I personally got my 180 ilvl druid to 1750 when I decided I don’t want to play it anymore
Have a friend that’s 2100 this ssn on a 190 rogue. There’s tons of examples it SUCKS but it’s still possible just cherry picking that one point

I just can’t see any logical reason to make gearing part of the barrier to entry, especially when you’re relying on other people to get matches. PVP should have matchmaking with an MMR system by now with how many people are interested in it.

I’m about to take a work trip for a month and know it will be even worse when I come back and try to play this game. That shouldn’t be a thing players have to worry about.

I’m also on the road moving rn and will fall behind gear. I’m not defending or attacking the system but the goal was a sense of progression and pvp gear being viable in pve but not easy enough to afk Bgs for it.

That’s the thing though; it worked out the opposite. Pvp gear scales down in pve instead of up in pvp. Mythic gear is the same ilvl.
