It’s been days since the hubbub died down in that PvP thread. If we want change we have to be louder.
To anyone at Blizzard seeing this: there’s no other game on the market that does PvP like wow. Is there anyway we can make it easier for new players to join by making it purely out skill and not heavily dependent on gear? It is beyond disheartening to throw your hands up at the start of an arena knowing damn well you just simply have no chance.
Sure upgradeable gear isn’t bad and it actually makes me strive to be better, to upgrade my gear, and feel rewarded. But I don’t necessarily believe 7 times, for every single equipment slot, is viable. It leads to burn out, it leads to dragging feet…it leads to feeling like a job…
What if we removed the upgrades or made it so honor gear is 233 in PvP > upgrade ONCE to 239? Leave conquest gear at a fixed ilvl.
I think one of the best changes to the game was PvP scaling, I adore doing both PvE and PvP. But feeling locked out of PvP sometimes really doesn’t do the game justice. Thank you for reading this far. The players are on your side, we really are. We want to make this work together and to do that we BOTH need to be receptive

While I agree with your point they still need to have a match type where PVP gear and ilvl matter. Just for those who do grind rated hard and want to use what they got, but it would be nice if there was a game mode where gear didn’t apply. It may cause more of my friends to actually try pvp.
In about 2 weeks it will be.

I will always support these posts!
Please, 1 honor set, 1 conquest set
I don’t know if maybe blizzard thinks that the gear grind will make people keep playing longer therefore more money/longer sub count and what not but if they just took the grind out of it, a lot of people would be more incentivized to play - I myself would try out almost every class just for the fun of it.

Most people are not interested in being cannon fodder for those that can spend endless hours climbing ladders

Arenas are pure garbage. Healers running around poles all day. Why? Absolutely ridiculous. I cannot stand being in 25 min arenas. Like you said it feels like a job. I like bg’s and rbg’s. Having to find a group, join a discord with crazy loud and annoying music on, then having to listen to mouth breathers feels somewhat like surfing the net in the 90’s. Lfg for rbg and your discord garbage makes it feel like I’m back on dial up and waiting for an eternity just to get into an rbg that is in the other teams favour nearly every time. Just create an individual queue for rbg with pvp gear requirements to queue. Destroy the boosters. We don’t need them. Nothing is more sad than a player who boosted and you can tell they have no idea in that top gear. I know I’m ranting a bit, I’m just frustrated by this non stop garbage forcing me into twitch channels and and crappy discord channels. Honesty rbg’s don’t require no stop, target calling. With a couple addons, everything you need is on your screen. Calling incoming to flags early is usually the only thing needed for voice. In game voice is quick and easy. Getting to the point where I’m staring at the screen again, out of frustration and not wanting to get stressed from lfg for rbg.

This is why PvP in most mmorpgs will always fail.
Somebody who can play around the clock will always have an unfair advantage over you.
You’d have more luck winning a game of CoD starting fresh than anything on WoW.

Blizzard has been literally trying to get rid of you guys since Mists, even openly insulting the community and yet you are all still here. Amaazzzzing
Yeah, there’s a reason for that…
It’s pining for the fjords!
Pvp is garbo in this game. Biggest wall being matchmaking. Half the battle is finding groups the other half is horrible balance between classes and gear.
I like bgs but the way stealth is done in the game forces the meta comps. Just big dumb to have the best pvp tank in the game also be a stealth class.
The most glaring example of wow not supporting and promoting this content is the choice to deny players access to its API. Hiding this content is like they’re embarassed by it.
When blizzard opened up PvE API to the players, Rio was born. Players eventually had all the tools they need to collaborate with one another.
A few sites have tried different workarounds, but I haven’t seen anything with up-to-date and broad coverage of pvp match and ranking data.
Exactly. Haters gonna hate.
WPVP is absolutely dead because blizzard can’t figure out how to balance phases so they aren’t 90-10 one way or the other.
