PvP is Unfair

If civilians are dishonorable kills, why are they flagged? Why is my character penalized two weeks of honor for a multi-shot hit I had no control over? You know Blizzard, if you’re going to charge us full price, we want the full game.

Alliance side on Era has to wait weeks for battlegrounds (while the horde stacks cash and prizes with 30 second queues seven days a week - I’m sure that’s just a coincidence - Blizzard isn’t really obsessed with orcs winning all the time - that’s a conspiracy theory). So if we go out and try to do world pvp, all it takes is one stray spell or weapon swing and we all lose a rank. That’s some straight up bull**** right there.

Furthermore, there is a persistent rumor that if we go after civilians we’ll get banned. So what’s the point you’re trying to make? Here’s some land mines that will cost you months of honor progression to discourage you from pvp outside of the battlegrounds we can never get into?

Getting a little tired of paying full price for 2/3 of a game, fellas, and I’m damn sure tired of these little gotchas that randomly prevent me from getting the rank I’ve earned.

Take DKs out of the game. Unflag the poor booboo civilians and give me my half million honor back OR knock five bucks a month off my subscription if I’m only going to get 2/3 of the game.

Maybe you should avoid those areas if you wanna avoid DHKs. :man_shrugging:

It’s really hard finding an argument for why DHKs need to be in the game even as someone who is generally opposed to any changes. They really don’t do anything to preserve or improve the vanilla experience. One could even argue that removing DHKs would make the game more vanilla like as people actually raided capitol cities back then. Now they don’t because of the fear of accidental DHKs.

I really wouldn’t be mad if they removed DHKs. I’d be fine with it. But if they do that they should probably also make civilian NPCs unkillable so people don’t grief quest givers 24/7.

Where have you heard this rumor?

You are right that DHKs are pointless and didn’t do what they were meant to do. Even the original devs admitted that and took them out as quickly as TBC.

I’m probably just gonna avoid ranking and just go on a civilian murder spree. If I get the eye of sulf to drop, I AM DEFINATELY going for world’s highest DHKs.

Don’t have a choice. The civilians are programmed to involve themselves. They should have to follow the same rules as everyone else - if you’re flagged, you get bagged. You don’t go crying about it and you **** sure don’t get to blow up two weeks of honor, especially when the player had no intention of attacking a civilian in the first place.

DKs shouldn’t exist. Take them OUT of the game now and give me my honor back.

You’re complaining to deaf ears; they don’t listen to us here.

Just an FYI, you can’t abbreviate or half-censor a curse word oj the forums. That breaks the Code of Conduct.

Be more careful.

I Have over 1000 Dks and nothing will happen to you. However if you keep killing the banker or ah guy you can get reported which leads to a zone disruption. I’ve taken over towns myself ( multiboxer ) and nothing happens. As far as your story goes stay away from civilians. It’s not that hard lol

So would you like a game in which you can’t make any mistakes? ah crap that rules out chutes and ladders!!

vanilla isnt pvp its a giant gang bang. wait for arenas.

Added in patch 1.5 with the Honor System, removed in patch 2.0.1 the pre-TBC patch.

This is part of Vanilla and the Honor System. It was added in the patch that introduced Battlegrounds to the game.

Blizzard doesn’t need to do anything here, DHKs are avoidable.

Sorry fam, if you had any fantasy of invading a town or city, you will have to play a different game.

Dishonorable kills being in the game in 2025 is proof enough that Blizzard has no intention of improving this game. It’s only a money printer whose purpose is to fund office supplies and toilet paper, along with the electricity required to run the breast milk refrigerators located in the break room.

It’s to deter the average murder hobo…
