I read a lot of the forums. About how there is gear disparity, unbalanced classes, hard on the casual player…
I just want to give a shout out to Blizz for restoring some of the glory back to the PvP community. It’s fast. Its hard. In every area (I did some epics on my paladin and that whole system needs a re-vamp) but randoms, arena, rbg…I couldn’t be happier.
After playing BFA with hidden math (scaling) and no vendors …the game play was just so bogged down and unplayable or enjoyable.
SL has been such a breath of fresh air! NEVER EVER even think about bringing back templates or scaling. We don’t even say “s” word anymore…shhh…
I like how mythic raiding and high lvl pvp is leading the pack on gear lvls. Keep that up! It’s the way it was and should be!
I’m a big critic of Ion and his pvp direction but man…this has been amazing!!

yes there is some meta balacing to do. But lots of us are waiting for that for S2 before going hog wild in arena. Thats also been the history of arena since forever.

If I had a little xmas list…Id say two things need to get removed - fire mage globals, and some DR’s or some kind of nerf to the entire druid kit. It’s ridiculous. Bear form, flag running, off heals, convoke, root, clone lazer beam…put some brakes on that kit please. But that’ll be season 2 stuff. Also, im enjoy druid healers being nerfed. The burst makes em humble.

No one really wants scaling or templates.

We want PVP gear again. WoD style. Fast to earn and gear that is close in ilvl.

How is the current ilvl gap in PVP gear good for PVP?

I just levelled an alt and I’m at 208ilvl. I work, play when I can and didn’t take me long at all. In fact it was so ez I’m starting my third alt for rbg and arena season 2. There is no gear disparity

Even between 208 and 220 it is noticeable. How about 180-220? What about 150-220?

How is the current gear disparity good for the game? How does someone with half my HP stand a chance?

Uh you can go from 150+ brand spanking new to 200 in a day. Then u gotta do ranked pvp. Ahh… And thats where the trouble starts. Now it’s a skill thing

Oh? All the people getting carried with 200 ilvl gear have skills?

And once they get 220 gear they are now better than anyone with 200 gear?

That is not skill, it is a gear based advantage. Why does it have to be such a large gap in power for high rated players?
Can’t they beat unrated “casuals” without a large gear advantage?

Stop playing the victim and find a RBG team, start one with friends, or join some yolo’s once you hit 197+.

I am not playing the victim. And I am doing fine in 210 gear.

I am pointing out that this PVP gearing system has flaws. Ones that did not exist before Legion.

How does a smaller ilvl gap hurt PVP? Why does the difference in power have to be so large?

If you can hit 1500 in RBGS as a Shaman you can do it as a DK. Go play the game.

Let me sum this guys posts up from what I’m reading… I’m lazy and don’t want to find a pvp community so anyone who has obviously got carried and that’s not fair.

So, you have no answer for how a smaller ilvl gap will make PVP worse?

I didn’t think so. Because there is no defensible answer to that.

It will only make the game better.

Honestly this game is so close to being in a fun state but their slow reaction to class nerfs is really annoying.

I like how fast paced the PvP is and not having long-drawn out fights that only end because of dampening is a welcome change, I’m even having fun on my undergeared alt that I’ve spent most of my PvP time on recently.

It’s also incredibly nice that I’m able to get upgrades from PvP for PvE, I only casually play PvP but being able to get 226 upgrades for the Raid is so nice, especially since the raid gear has poor stats for my class.

I don’t need an answer. I’m fine with the game as is. You’re the one with the (or many) problem here.

Post your solution to gearing changes in General Discussion as it will affect the entire game, not just the oh so special Random Battlegrounds. I’ll gladly read it and respond there.

Personally the idea of verse gear dropping in raids pissed me off but I’ve played with a lot of pve players this season who are rocking. And thats made this whole pvp season so much fun. Fresh blood and it doesn’t matter where or how u get gear it can be done. I know two guys I started the season off who have multiple toons over 2.1k and going for more. I think the 226 myrhic gear gives pve players a chance to step into pvp and not get wrecked

Dude the only reason there is gear ilvl gap is because players can’t or won’t do rated pvp. End of story. Most likely they can’t. Macros is hard.

What about all the players who only PVP? Yes, even the unrated players?
