The problem I’m running into right now wrt pvp is that I’m picking the pve item from the vault. So players who are picking the pvp options will be weeks ahead in terms of pvp gear. Which will make the first 8-16 weeks harder for me to compete.
With the ilvl boost making pvp matter less in pve they should let us get a pve and pvp item from the vault.

You mean, almost like the separate PvP and PvE chests we had in BfA?

You are judging participation off of one streamer? That’s how I know you are misinformed. I think blizzard with the data is much more trustworthy than one streamers data on how much he thinks he normally plays.
It has the exact same system as Season 1 and every other PvP season? Lol.
Someone is just doomsaying to doomsay.
What? Lol.
Gear upgrades from rating have been a thing longer than it hasn’t, and the version we have now is the best version of it.
Did you forget there was past expansions where you would need 2.2k to fully unlock a gear upgrade?
Sounds to me like you just do not know how to correctly PvP and blame gear lol.
I do PVP for Vault flush only.
I do PVP coz must each week.
Do i Enjoy PVP Yes if i reach 1600 the state PVP is stable and balance at RATED BG. Everyone has almost equal gear Game Feel so healthy and enjoyable at RATED BG. Coz i love Play BG. Im only looking state of game that fun to play win or lose it follow my mood but at least i can have fun.
Random BG hell no i never que that thing in SL That Content Has Become Trash content once was a great content now is Trash content.
I Still Dont understand with Blizzard why make content that was good and so many people love it to become a Trash, instead of make it better.
It’s okay. We get that you want to play the game alone, but want to be locked at the top of the ladder. All alone.
Top competitive PVP Esport Game now There is no gear power they only add cosmetic and other fun thing stop defending blizzard and mmorpg pvp gear system look at the most played game on the world. If This system is good Blizzard wont lost many player since wotlk till now. and back in wotlk world pop is lower than now.

Ive given up on pvp. I’m tired of being hit once or twice then farmed in the graveyard.
No idea what blizzard is thinking other then they want to kill their own game for some reason. Its just weird
It’s brutal. Healing has become extremely hard to keep some people alive with all the bursty burst.
The gear disparity is still as whack as ever, if not worse.

Is that supposed to be an argument of some sort or just some dumb comment lol.
Ladder is pretty healthy right now, just shows how inexperienced you are
Locking the best gear behind a rating requirement was absolutely stupid and completely killed the PvP-scene. If you play PvP right now you’re fighting a constant uphill-battle: Not only against better players, but against players with better gear. Imagine trying to raid Mythic but all you get is LFR-gear, because that’s the current state. And you can just as well remove random-BGs because what’s the point? Getting constantly stomped by players with better gear?
A very cynical part of me wants to say that this is a deliberate design choice, because people will buy tokens for gold in order to finance boosts to get the best gear.

???
That’s basically kotmogu.
You get points from kills X orbs X center of map multiplier.
The only way to get casuals back in PvP is to give out lots of gear and that makes regular PvP’ers unhappy. PvP was so active at the beginning of the XP because it was such a good way to supplement PvE gear. Now, casual world PvE gear is way behind PvP and no leveling players want to go into a BG and eat dirt for 20 min.

I used to be WAY into PVP. In fact, I was more of a PVPer than anything else. Things changed in Legion. I was on my assassination rogue, geared in heroic raid level gear when I decided to gank a bear druid. I popped every cooldown. Every. Single. One. I spent two minutes unloading on the druid while he just tried to run away. When he decided to fight back, I died in 10 seconds. He still had full health. I went and checked his armory and he was in, like, heroic dungeon gear.
I decided then and there that I was done with PVP and with the little I’ve done since, I’m glad I did. PVP is an unbalanced mess and the devs either can’t or won’t try to fix it. It’s been world of healercraft since BC and it hasn’t stopped.
This has been my experience too; a pug and I will churn out 2 or 3 wins, be feeling pretty good, and then 1 loss later one (or both) of them immediately drops. I don’t get it.

Goodness that was hard to read with so many errors. I’ll try and guesstimate what you were getting at…
They add both of those with every season, so I don’t quite know what you are getting at.
World of Warcraft has the best PvP of any MMORPG out there. The gear system isn’t an issue, it is the playerbase.
People have been leaving for numerous reasons since WoTLK. A lot of people do more than just PvP you know. If they ruined the PvE scene I wouldn’t pay $15 a month to just PvP, but thankfully the PvE scene is doing great!
I do not have this issue. Are you being mean to them or saying stuff that could be interpreted as toxic during or after the games? Most people say something before they leave, which is why I don’t think we are hearing everything.
So what I’m hearing in this thread is that without a steady stream of cannon fodder, the pvp community isn’t large enough to support itself.
Just let it die.
I actually think if you’re a real PVPer one of the best formats is MOBA.
- Micro
- Macro
- Comps
- Item combinations
- Three phases to the game
- Knowing bans/counters
To me, you really need skills, cunningness (is that a word?), you have to have done your homework, and have a good mind for strategy.

But mobas are boring. You can’t socialize with players when you’re not queueing. You can’t sit in elwynn and watch people duke it out or trash talk them or ask them to queue with you
Theres no “community” in mobas, its just an impersonal get in get out lobby
Mmos add that extra layer to pvp
