You had something with trying to balance the game in Legion. Stat templates but it was torn down by the “elite” who wanted a clear edge being able to no life to the top of the boards in first few weeks. They hated being on equal footing and wanted the +40iLvl
Gear needs to be removed from the equation for PvP to be even close to balanced but you won’t do it blizz.
This is why anyone ever talking about WoW Arena “eSports” is a joke. The entire WoW PvP landscape is absolute trash.
You can get full honor gear in a day, and be quite competitive. The difference is 10-15? ilvls, not +40. Conquest is uncapped, so you can farm full gear. People didn’t hate stat templates because they wanted some imaginary ilvl upgrade that everyone has access to, it’s that equally distributing secondary stats is not “equal footing” when certain specs are designed around certain secondary stats.
Better MMO PvP? Anyone?

Huh? Gear is the same right now, though. An unranked BG player can be 424 just like a 3k rated arena player.
It’s also quicker to gear than ever before.
Nah its not even hard to get conquest gear this expansion.
Also for the record glad-r1 players have generally been in favor of removing ilev from pvp.

I prefer bringing back PVP armor for PVP instances

no, the people who want gear to matter seem to systemically always be random bg heroes who do no rated content and want to just one shot undergeared players for a short shot of serotonin

this false narrative of some sort of shadowy cabal of r1s who control the pvp scene is tiresome and laughable, since it seems like the pvp community is constantly catching collateral from PvE changes, and spends a large portion of an expansion’s life routinely being ignored, with dragonflight being a welcomed change in the latter regard, comparatively
Listen, even though we play only PvP, we are mmorpg players, most of us like item progression and for the first time Blizzard made gearing pace and balance almost perfect.
Even CsGo and League of Legends has gear progression, the more you kill the stronger you get, simple logic.

Ngl the gear is easy to get and once u have it your on par with everyone else ngl tho the stun lock in this game is actually worse than new world.
Never. That is why twinking and pvp was at it’s best. It made it fun and nobody can complain that they didn’t have a chance to be OP, you can easily run the same dungeons and content I did for the rare OP drops. I still have tons of 19/29/39 rare’s for almost every twink sitting in banks. Brings back memories to go open up that vault and look at it all.
