Is it timegated or fully available?
Grind the currency, buy the gear.
Do you consider that a time gate? If so, it’s time gated.
If you can tell me a time in WoW’s history when you could just walk up and buy a full suit of gear… I’d like to be reminded of that.

No you just get Honor and spend it.
A single piece of gear, fully upgraded to 7/7 is about 6k Honor? Maybe slightly more/less?
Your rate of acquisition for Honor will vary but, a full set of even the intro-Honor gear will require substantially more than a weekend.
And keep in mind, you’re just gonna get your teeth farmed out of year head in that set. If you want to do PvP, and you’re not doing Arena/RGBs for Conquest… your ability to do anything will depend on a lot of things. lol
How much would a full honor set actually cost?
Main pieces are 2875 honor to fully upgrade after you pay for the piece. Head, chest, legs. The rest is 2250 to 1750, I think. The weapon is the highest if it’s a two hander. If it’s main/offhand they’re around the same as main armor pieces each. It’s not as bad as some said. Unless you’re horde, then have fun with your 7x longer queues. I prefer doing epic BGs. You get more honor IMO, because sometimes the regular BGs last just as long for less honor.

It’s around 38k honor in total. Not that bad considering you average around 600 honor for a quick loss, and 850-ish for a quick win. In epics, that is. The longer it goes the more honor you get, not including quest rewards offered in a few of them.
I went through every piece on a prot paladin, and it’s 44,250 if you don’t upgrade the trinkets. Which is only worth it if you want to spend the honor on upgrading them, but you want both trinkets for the 350 stam bonus.
Full honor gear costs around 11k to buy and 35k to upgrade. The cost obviously goes down depending on your legendary slot and any conquest gear you acquire in the process. Also, the renown gates from previous seasons are still there so if this is a fresh alt you’ll need 59 renown to upgrade honor gear to 7/7.

the belt from ZM. If you see you getting it…don’t buy this if looking for points efficiency.
conquest hits. Me personally I 249 trinkets then mix and match a ring or neck.
