mages can heal?
Yeah healers suck, idk why premades even run them now that you said this.
If theyâre going to generically buff healing priests deserve a nerf.
Priests, like all healers, are weak. Priests can die 100-0 in a kidney from a single rogue. Their healing, should they survive said kidney, is not enough to recover before another stun or interrupt. Priests can PW:Shield for around 2k in full bis, but a single dispel and all of that instant effective HP value is lost. Penance is their only strong healing ability, but it suffers the same fate as every strong healing ability: cast time.
In a pvp environment, Shamans are currently the highest healing output class. Do they have to hard cast? Yes. Iâd argue Druid has the second highest output, and yet again theyâd have to cast to obtain that via Nourish. Shaman and Druid being the top 2 healing output classes is a good design, as they donât have a defensive dispel. Sadly, even the top healing output classes struggle to outheal 1-2 people hitting someone. This should only be the case, if the healer is being CCâd or interrupted.
Iâve done a lot of PVP in SOD, and believe me, most people are tunnel visioning the person directly in front of them and not paying attention to the healer at all. Funnily enough, this âstrategyâ works for a lot of classes.
I am not asking for massive healer buffs, but rather to not artificially nerf our healing output in PVP. Everyone knows that damage has been scaling at damn near retail levels, yet healing has just fallen behind.
Your typing makes me think your got all your honor in AV. Priest is weak? Die in a single kidney? If the priest isnât running stam gear and isnât flasking, sure. If weâre talking about balancing around flasks and such btw then people who actually use them would be an unbalanced and unaccounted for factor. PoM and PWS are both great spells. Yes PWS is dispellable, yes shamans make it weaker for alliance than horde but itâs still generally good. Lets also not pretend like priests donât have bonus stun res, disperse, trinkets and LIPs.
Priests donât struggle against 1-2 people hitting someone, they might struggle vs certain classes like boomies/hunters hitting someone or a rogue hitting a mage.
I agree healers besides priests are in a bad spot, besides maybe hpal which is a passable class. The reason is not because of their healing throughput thoughâŚ
People throw around terms like, âartificialâ adjustments to games and I have no idea what it means. Instead of a healing reduction in pvp do you want a nerf to the gear or spells directly?
Itâs honestly so insanely funny how many people on these forums clearly grinded all their honor in AV or throwing ABs and just post comments like they have any idea whatâs going on in SoD pvp. The small handful of ppl on here who clearly actually play is dwindling too, rip lightbwithu and othersâŚ
SOD is the first version of WOW, to my knowledge, that has damage spells/abilities out perform healing spells. This is, in no small part, due to the 30% healing reduction in pvp. Moreover, healers (and mages LOL RIP you poor mages) are the only role that have to think about their mana bar.
Not only do we heal for less, but our mana has become increasingly less effective. Health pools have skyrocketed which has helped healers keep people alive, but it costs an even larger percentage of our overall mana to fully heal someone. As previously stated, it takes an hpal 100% of their mana to heal someone from 1-100% hp in a BG with holy light spam (assuming 0 crits). Obviously this is an exaggerated scenario, as we crit often, but it demonstrates how insane healing in pvp has become.
Healers in BGs donât so much outheal damage, as we do delay potential death in the hopes that our dpsers can kill the enemy first. If so much as a single CC/Interrupt hits us, there is a domino effect of death after death.
I understand that, as a rogue, you can have a very narrow view of the battle. Believe me healers, priests included, are not in a strong spot.

Youâre a funny lil gnome.
Healers are very much still strong, when properly supported, the problem is most bg groups dont peel for and burn defensives on their healers properly so they cant make full use of them
