Look guys, your getting a lot of new and returning players with TWW.
Its time to fix this system.
Remove conquest gear as an ilvl upgrade and instead have cosmetics only.
The best gear stat wise should be able to be purchased by honor, thus giving EVERYONE a fair playing field regardless of how much free time they have to play.
I can guarantee this will drastically increase your player base.
It is not fun, to jump into the game and try do some PvP when you are behind and everyone has full sets. You get stomped every time. People abuse you, you get pissed off and you leave.
People will still play Arena and Bg’s for the titles/mounts and cred.
Just to be nice I’ll entertain this crazy idea. What you are advocating for is almost Legion esque where we had stat templates and gear only mattered for stamina buff (1 percent per ilvl?). While I liked this, most casuals HATED this system. People wanted gear progression. They learned their lesson after this. So the answer is no, new returning players want gear progression. They like it and doing some weird honor standardization would completely kill the game for 90 percent of the players
Or…or…hear me out. Stop complaining. DF had the best and most casual friendly gearing seen in years. I want them to stop fixing what works, and focus on balance and reward structure/track.
If anything, they should just add back in the BoE conquest token you could randomly get in WoD. Was a nice gold incentive to grind PvP and also allowed people to max conquest fast if they wanted to purchase them. Win/win.
It’s an rpg and people like the idea of earning something that makes their character stronger. Also, it’s INCREDIBLY easy to gear and, while its true everyone has different schedules, it’s extremely fast to grind conquest. Maybe a full set takes longer, but if you havent played an entire season vs people who have, that’s on you; not blizzard.
Agreed. And I want players to take Some accountability for their actions and not just blame blizzard for EVERYTHING, especially minutia that are entirely within their own control.
Buddy you have 30k achi, I would say your not the target audience of this post lol
Your just pissed at what I am proposing because it would take away your unfair advantage on the casual player base.
Also, care to explain how doing a shuffle, going 0-6 because the team sees you have all greens, and then getting no conq is fast and fun?
Additionally you cop whispered abuse from other players while at it?
Care to explain how that is fun?
Achievement points mean nothing, and I slowly level/gear and grind elite sets on every class throughout the season when I have time. I probably gear more characters late in the season than most players. I think that makes me very qualified to comment on this.
No I’m not. Do you genuinely feel this way, or are you just trolling?
First of all, that “advantage” is not nearly as significant as you’re making it out to be. A full gearset difference is ~13% damage and ~30% hp. It’s DEFINITELY significant, but you shouldnt be going 0-6 because of that ever.
Second, if other people put time into playing the game in an rpg, they SHOULD have SOME advantage over people who don’t (to a point, obviously). Also, the conquest cap exists FOR this reason so people don’t degen no-life and skyrocket ahead.
You could play for 3 hours a week and never fall behind on gear.
You can blame other players, but I got 2100 the last day of the season on a holy priest from 0 cr in shuffle in all greens and no enchants in like 6 lobbies? And it would’ve been faster if I didn’t have 3 lobbies where a dps went 0-6 (in full gear as well). I don’t even heal regularly. You can get 1800, which is the reward most people go for, by just having honor greens and doing a passable pve rotation on literally every class/spec.
You would benefit 100x more by just googling a wowhead rotation guide and practicing it instead of making an upset forum post.
Bring back conq gear upgrading. Reward those who put time into this MMO and don’t listen to casuals wanting to “try” and abandon the mode. Thanks Blizzard!
It would be cool if thats how gear worked. But people dont understand that gear progression only matters for a minor momment each season and then its irrelevant. Just let us go straight to conquest gear. Buying gear to just buy more gear is the most boring part of this game imo. I want to play the game not gear simulator. Let the pve’rs have that.
I think it would allow for more people to try out healer to see if they like it without committing a huge amount of time before that test. Or if you dont like one class in pvp its not an “ugh” moment where now you have to level and gear another toon (lots of hours) before finding one you like.
Plus who enjoys being in full greens late in the season vs full conquest ? No fun at all. At least let me transfer conquest and not play the lottery box gear game.
Gear progression is for pve content enjoyers, it doesnt belong in pvp. Let player skill be the difference not this fake difference in power thats just meerly time played.
Ima be honest with you bro. Gearing is as easy as it’s ever been. I’m no guru of the game but it took me roughly 7 hours a week to keep 4 toons fully geared gemmed and enchanted. And I still ran a bunch of random bgs for fun. Gearing is not a hard thing, and once you catch up with a 2-4 set and a weapon (roughly 4 hours of play) you’re more than competitive. Good luck homie but I don’t want standardized gearing. Just play the game and you’ll be fine.
I am super casual, and old lol. I didn’t think the honor to conquest gear grind was too bad. Actually, I kinda liked learning a new class while in honor gear. While I gained conquest gear I got better at the class and once I was fully geared I finally felt like a real player lol
Since the dawn of the first season of Arena, Back in the good old days of The Burning Crusade, Their has always been 2 tiers of Justice. 1 for the “I don’t have time to play” And 1 for the “I like to sip vodka and grind my life away” Those 2 tiers are known as Honor and Conquest.
It is up to you to decide your flavor of Justice. Clearly you have chosen death by crying.
You realize that by the end of the 3rd week of DF Season 4 I had already basically fully conquest geared 3 chars and was standing around twiddling my thumbs the rest of the season. You act as if it is so hard. I am sorry you can’t find the time to take 1-2 hours out of your busy day to run a few arena matches, Join a yolo RBG, or just complete the weekly random PVP quest.
Gearing is so easy and and after thought at this point. What you are lobbying for is for hand me outs. Because you aren’t playing you expect others to be penalized for that when they are playing.
They just need to reduce the gap between honor and conquest by 5 or 8 ilvls. Early season it’s not too bad but mid to late season you can really feel it.
