PvP gearing is bad and not fun (HELP)

Oh no Ion acknowledged we want vendors in an interview, but that was it

Has this happened yet? I still haven’t touched bfa since a month or so after it’s release

no it hasnt happened, i quit bfa awhile ago.

Funny theres a pre-order button for shadowlands on this website.

 :joy:  :joy: yeeeeaaaaahhhh right! No class information, no pvp vendors, they can get a pre-order from Deez…

That sucks. No plans to purchase shadowlands then.

Not that there isn’t any class information, they have listed things they are unpruning for every class (except monk) and already said they won’t be changing fundamentally how the classes work.

The only thing changing with classes are what covenant (read faction) you choose gives you access to 2 different abilities. 1 ability is a standard same across all classes movement style ability unique to the covenant.
The other is a class specific ability again unique to the covenant.

Then you can enter into a soulbond or whatever with a npc in your covenant that will give you access to a talent style tree you lvl (new ap system) to augment your character. However they said this time the new “ap” will be capped a week. So you can’t earn past the cap.

Communication means nothing when what their goals contradicts our goals.

From my understanding, the list of abilities shown at Blizzcon was not complete. I need to see a full list of abilities and class changes/information before I decide to comeback.

Moreover, there has not been any information on PvP gearing. So because its blizzard, I will be cynical and assume the worst.

The covenant stuff sounds cool and great, and would be interesting, but if those first two boxes arent checked its irrelevant. At least for me.

Again zero class changes are coming. They might do some adjustments on how hard things are hitting. but if you are wanting a spec to flow differently then you are out of luck.

The standard ability list is complete as it’s just 4.
As of right now only mage and dk has all 4 of the class specific ones available to view, with the other classes only showing 1 of the 4.

Where can I see this?

I am not doubting you, I just want to inform myself further.

When I say class changes, I consider Frost Shock coming back to ENH to be a huge class change, so we might get our terminology mixed up here.

1753 posts later lol. Good job blizz.

This pretty much. They want players to play more of the game, like bc/ wrath and some players want to only play in their sandbox, like MoP/ WoD.

No they want to artificially inflate time played metrics.

As we have gone over before, wrath you could still stick to just pvp and was able to be completely competitive without doing a single ounce of pve.

The ladders showed a majority being pure pvp geared. With outliers having the other items.

Not sure how my bis chest piece being available from pvp or m raiding inflates time played, but ok…

That’s the way it should be. PvP gearing needs buffed to be comparable to BC/ Wrath. That does not mean it needs to be MoP/ WoD.

M+ is the best source of gearing. The titanforge and now even more so the corruption, creates the since of “did I get the best possible version of this item? No, well have to keep farming” it’s just a treadmill.

Gear for pvp should not be a deciding factor if someone wins or not. Right now that is the case, especially now with corruption doing some stupid things for people’s dmg.

Again, all 3 avenues of high end play need to have equal rewards… They need to fix it. They are trying. The answer is not to continually create new systems, but to pick a way and balance it…

But it was when this game was the most popular. This is an mmo. There are many factors that determine success. Skill has not always been at the top. This was never that game.

Time investment, class, spec, comp, gear, communication and rng determine success.

That is the way the game was created. The game has gotten worse the more they tried to turn it into an esport instead of an mmorpg.

Agreed. Thats why they need to get rid of the current style gearing in BFA and dont do templates and go back to how PvP gearing was from BC to WoD, with a vendor.

The answer is to not tweak azerite craptastic non fun traits, but to remove them altogether. You are absolutely right about this.

Pvp had nothing to do with the popularity of those xpacs. And again pve items affecting pvp were outliers. The majority of the ladder during wrath was still mostly if not pure pvp geared toons.

Again this has nothing to do with pvp. Wrath to cata lose subs due to content draught.
MoP, because not everyone could get behind pandaland aesthetics
WoD couldn’t keep subs because again content draught.

For majority of wrath and cata seasons, mop, wod, and legion gear didn’t overall break the game.
With things like double tank trinkets letting melee yiff so hard but be forgiven. Essences and trinkets, not class abilities, have been the majority of players dmg.
Now with corruption it’s only going to get worse.

Gear and mmorpg characteristics can still, and should, stick around. Does not mean pvp should be affected by those same systems.
Pvp participation percentages has only ever been higher the more pve doesn’t effect pvp.
