Ever since Legion did its “rework” of the shadow spec I’ve basically stopped playing this guy, which was my old main.
Lately I’ve felt like giving him a second try and, in the 13+ years I’ve been playing this game, I’ve never experienced something as miserable as trying to gear my alt through pvp.
“But you can do m+”. No, I find m+ rather monotonous and you get some absolutely ridiculous requirements for something as trivial as a +10. I don’t want to spam content I find dull only to raise some intangible addon score, I just want to gear up my alt a bit doing something I enjoy and so far the experience has been completely and utterly horrible.

It is and Blizzard doesn’t seem to care. Otherwise they would’ve announced the return of vendors at Blizzcon with the SL reveal

Same here, I Q up for some casual pvp while I wait to relist my auctions. It’s my only gear income and well I’m still at 400 Ilevel. Needless to say I lose any fights to anyone with mythic gear, even though they forget half their defensives and I manage to kill their pocket healer.
It’s really unfun to lose a fight before I even start it.

PvP vendors need to come back.
We actually need the gearing system from WOD to come back because it really helped PvP gear be the best for PvP and PvE gear be the best for PvE. For the toons that I basically PvP exclusively on, I don’t want to have to PvE to gear them.

I used to PvP a lot when it was actually good. I also used to have a subscription. I’ll let yall put 2 and 2 together.

There are many matches where there’s very little you can do to beat a 445+ warrior as a shadow priest, I lost to some 445+ ret that literally missed all kicks and kept falling down in that mechagnome arena simply because my ilvl won’t let me pve them hard enough, and you don’t get your chance at a most likely useless item if you lose, and so the circle of missery continues.
At least in that match vs the non kick ret I admit I could have killed his rdruid instead, that was my mistake but against the 445+ warriors things are just kinda hopeless with this gear.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want gear disabled, this is a mmorpg after all. What I would like is to be able to gear up doing content I want to do to improve my performance at said content.

I’m gonna echo what everyone in this thread has already said. I would really like to see PVP Vendors come back. For those of us who strictly pvp, even casual pvp, it would be nice to be able to gear up through pvp instead of raids, M+, or questing.
As it is now, it just takes too long, and is extremely monotonous.

I wonder if that guy was using sporepods or another tank trinket. Those are such a headache right now.

Is this where I can recommend they also include a minimum ilevel to queue so I stop getting people with <100k health on my team?
Not saying I’m super geared myself, but having a 45k health teammate sort of makes me want to give up.

My child, only the great Ion knows what’s best for us WoW players.
That’s why they’re not afraid to show the massive increase in sub numbers.

You mean for Random bgs, right?
Yeah, I would never willingly go into any ranked environment with my crappy gear lol.
Which I suppose feeds into this too, my only options for gearing are really PvE.

The light drains from my eyes every time I spend 3 minutes grinding down a max geared warrior in a BG only for someone else to show up and save him…
I feel your pain brother.
Also yeah, why the F does blizzard like giving me 8 cloaks of varying stats +1 +2 etc, when i have one thats a higher I level…
I usually only get trinkets and cloaks

Please bring back PVP VENDORS!!! I’ve made about 20+ threads since they vanished in legion. I can dig them all up ;(
I found another lol.

I agree with you so much, man.
But yeah that would defeat the point of a random being “random” per se.
That’s why I just don’t bother with battlegrounds like at all, if I wanted to do instanced PvP there’s arena. Arena awards better gear, gives consistent conquest, and will usually try to match you against someone of equal skill.
If I wanted a fix for large scale wpvp, there’s always the whole damn world lol. STV, Duskwood, Orgrimmar, Ashenvale, there’s a whole world to gank people in lmfao.

See there’s an issue with Random BGs being considered open for all, even normal dungeons have ilevel limits.
People are hitting 120 via korraks right now and going straight into BGs to try and gear (god why) and they are in the 30-50k health range and basically just hoping to be carried. They die to a gentle breeze.
Edit: Also as a returning player it’s kind of sad RBG seem just nonexistent, I don’t even see anyone trying to do them.

i see your point, I would say it’s fun going in with low gear to try to learn a spec trial by fire… if it was just a 350 requirement or so, it wouldn’t be too bad at all imo

A little off topic but in random bgs anything goes really. A rogue with 60k hp who knows how to “ninja” flags in bgs like Ab is far more useful than a geared rogue that only dps people but doesn’t kill anything.
Same goes for a few other classes, and it’s just random bgs, you’re in just to enjoy w/e goes on in them.

I suppose I’m a bit salty
I could totally see an undergeared rogue or fire mage still being useful, it’s just frustrating to see someone at 60k health then mousing over the other team and seeing someone at 400k health (as a dps no less). The disparity in ilevels can be annoying.
