Gearing up for pvp as a new or returning play is just way to much. I am not talking to the people that have pvp teams and can just get carried through arenas. I am only talking about new and returning players that have to do everything themselves.
I recently re-subbed to wow and was totally looking forward to playing again. I am a pvp player. Unfortunately i have a job and have to work for a liveing and i have a life outside my computer. i cannot play every day and even on the days i can play I can only play for a few hours at a time before life gets in the way.
This gear grind is just way to much. Its realisticly gonna take me a couple months of death grinding for hours at a time just to get the gear i need to play the game, that i am paying for, in a way thats enjoyable.
Sorry guys i just can not do this its just soooo unfun and this is the sliver of time i have free in my life to enjoy myself i cannot spend it dieing over and over and over and over again while not being able to do anything about that. Its sucked all the fun out of the game for me.
I understand and agree that people who invest more time into the game should be rewarded for that. But why does that have to mean that new people and people that dont have as much time cant have a chance to even be competative and just have to die a million times over and over again.
I know I am complaining and people are just gonna be like “play more” or “go uninstall” which i will do. Past all that though i am just stateing facts. When i was a teenager playing i had time to do this but as an adult i just dont. There needs to be some kind of pvp catchup system because this is just horrible.

You can have full honor gear in a couple of hours. You can realistically cap out conquest gear in a few hours as well. Go into group finder and join one of the warmode war crate groups and farm your gear with little to no PvP.

Thank you for your responce. I will look into doing that. Anything else i need to know?
War crate farms and epics are your friends. Get your main geared and then you can use them to farm honor gear for your alts. Good luck dude.

Join a spark farming group and get a bunch of bloody tokens/finish weekly. Do that once a week for two weeks and you can get 4p tier and another piece or two. Then you just get honor weapons/trinkets and conq farm for the rest. It’s pretty fast if you can just farm in 3s with randoms after getting the starting gear.
You get 100 bloody tokens per world quest when in PVP mode. This is 3 ilvls lower than Conquest* gear. Mix this with honor gear, and you’re set up for success without even entering a match yet.
I fully geared a fresh alt after work the other day, it’s not hard.
PVP-gearing has literally never been easier.

Just join a crate group and watch a movie for a few hours and you’ll be almost full bis in an afternoon.
We realistically can’t get better or faster pvp gearing.

Thanks for your responce. Someone else mentioned this. I am gonna give it a shot and see how it goes.
Anything else i should know?
-Crate raid for bloody tokens/conquest gear (you should unlock undermine and that other place I forget it’s name so you can go to all the zones, but you don’t have to - it will just be slower if you don’t)
-Complete a couple instanced PvP (BGs, blitz, arena etc) and you’ll get an item in your bag, you turn it in to a guy in the PvP room and it gives you 9 heraldries which can be crafted into gear (2-3 free pieces for turning in a quest)
-Get 2500 conquest and you get a free conquest weapon (you’ll get a bunch from the crate raid)
-Save your honor for trinkets first, get the set bonus from them
Lot’s have the same mentality, that you need to do BGs to gear. You don’t, you’re just trolling yourself if you do. It’s faster to gear outside of BGs now plus you don’t have to go in undergeared
It’s boring to be in a crate raid but so is playing this game undergeared
Yeah honestly a catch up would be nice. It definitely sucks to come in late to the game. You have no gear so you win no games so you get no conquest to get some gear to win some games.
It’s some kind of weird backwards set up honestly… As others have said, the best way to get gear is to afk farm world PvP crates. Boring but fast.
Not outside of farming drops wich is so boring and still take times.
I’ve just restarted as an alliance warrior and being a fresh 80 is a real PITA. Doing any kind of PvP with less then 6M HP is just so boring. You are so weak that enemies are better ignoring you and going straight to the real target then wasting 2 global to kill you.
I’m not almost in full green honor with 2 bloody piece, 1 crafted ring and 1 conquest chest piece, but no enchants cuz I’m still too poor, no lens (cuz jewel takes tons of honor) and I’m still useless. My burst is laughable but at least, I take some times to kill.
I’am all for working to get geared. But the time you spend being totaly useless to your team is ridiculous. At 6M HP on a war, I can tell you that even your healers will out damage you in a random BG.

If you only have 6 million HP, you’re doing something wrong. You can get honor gear very easily if you’re not willing to farm crates. I normally will leave randoms if I get someone with 6 million health on my team.
I came back about a week before the start of the current PvP season, after not playing at all during Dragonflight.
I had almost totally the opposite experience and opinion, and that’s without even learning about the open-world crates for the first couple weeks. I was playing quickmatch battlegrounds casually for a couple hours per day, and basically was getting an Honor set upgrade every other match or so.
Conquest was slower, of course, but the doing the PvP Weekly quests, hitting the first daily bonuses for small, epic, and brawls, and then grabbing crates got me to the Conquest cap pretty quickly. Once you get to 2500 points collected for the season, they just send you your epic weapon for free. Bloody Token gear is very close to the Conquest gear in ilvl.
Obviously, you’ll get blown up when you first start. That’s just how PvP is. It took me a while to get comfortable with my abilities, and comfortable with what abilities other classes are using. I’m no great PvPer, but it didn’t take long before I was able to make an impact.
When you’re starting out, you can’t just expect to be the hero running around globalling people. You have to focus on teamwork (peeling/assisting), communication, positioning, and objectives. Gradually, you’ll start finding that you’re getting more effective as you gear up and build a better understanding of your character, other characters, and the situational things you need to prioritize in each battleground.
Be brave. Don’t get discouraged if you fail. Try to play smart and keep trying. Don’t desert your matches. Look at every situation as practice for future situations. Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Go to your group finder window.
Click the custom “custom groups” button.
Type crate into the search field.
Thank me.

Have you tried the the eight hour war crate farm to conquest cap route? The only barrier to entry is not choosing to war crate farm with a raid group, and thats not a large one. For those that say farming crates still takes time…yeah, like a week less time than both being good, and getting the gear from instanced pvp. Try to remember that gear is earned. Either from very little effort and skill if you’re war crate farming, or from as much effort as you put into it for instanced pvp. More effort/skill/time invested can speed up the instanced pvp gains.
Gearing has never been easier! The difference between green honor gear and conquest is minimal. Unless you’re playing above 2k you don’t need max gear.
Gear disparity doesn’t exist anymore. If you can’t attain PvP gear it’s because you won’t even put in a minimum amount of effort. You can do one epic bg a day and get 2k honor. This thread is a joke

With crate farming it’s extremely easy for sure. Doesn’t mean it isn’t boring and they shouldn’t make other methods better? I saw a regular PvPer in the arena forum only just hear about crates today. Most people don’t come to the forums or read guides, they just want to log in and PvP.
Making regular gearing methods better is probably a good idea…
I mean 13 ilvls plus tier set is a pretty big dif… I noticed the jump that’s for sure.
That’s not the point… The point is mid season if you’re new or returning this system makes it easier for you to win when you don’t need it (because you’re already geared) and harder to gear because you’re not geared and lose.
They should honestly 4X the conquest gains for 2s/3s/rbgs(not blitz). That way people who don’t know about busted crates or don’t want to because it’s boring can get conquest gear easier.
The point is that you should put a little effort into your characters. It’s really not that hard. In fact I’m gonna prove it with my evoker who is level 80 without a shred of gear. Maybe some quest gear from s1…I’ll grind mount honor/conq gear mid season. Won’t take me more than a day to be ready for rated
Returning mid season does feel grindy if you just like to play bgs, because 1) everyone’s ahead, 2) You’ve missed all conquest weeklies, 3) spamming arenas is pita. So they could definitely give a boost there.
It’s not that grindy compared to Shadowlands, but still a weak point I think.
Farming the war mode chest is an option too, but you have to sit and wait.
Well OP, its by design… Players are supposed to be lost, so they are more open to all the advertisements saying “GET GUD”, LFG, trade chat, a google search… By design they want it to be as miserable and UnFun as possible… The ““CABAL”” is making mad cash, cant have happy players running around.
You can be farmed by Premades for endless losses, or pay the “Cabal” to be coached by pros, and win games… $$$
