Dude, gearing in pvp has never been easier. You are the only one that can’t figure it out.
Oh dang, you can only almost get max headed instantly
What a disaster, who could dare
I figured it out. And it feel bad and is a roadblock that doesnt need to exist.
No, this is an rpg…
Play the game, man
The actual solution is to bridge the pvp ilv gap between honor and conquest gear
It’s timegated just like pve gear, and it way faster to catch up in pvp in comparison. what’s the problem?
All I do is WoW PvP and even I can admit its a terrible experience doing PvP in bad gear. If I can avoid doing PvP content to get PvP gear I’ll do it every time. Considering how many people farm crates I’m not alone on that.
Just don’t tie power to PvE gear like they did in Legion.
The default Ilvl is 650. Honor is 665, WM gear is 675, Conq is 678.
Playing, not even winning, a singular BG nets you 9 Conquest Bux to craft 2/3 pieces of gear. You can now get WM gear in less than a week including a weapon.
I’m not going to say that the player in no/Honor gear isn’t at a disadvantage, but if you know what you’re doing a Honor-clad player will beat a decked out one any day of the week. Sometimes with 1v1 matchups that happens regardless. Equal skill matchups, yeah, gear plays a factor then.
It’s easier to gear for PvP than it ever has been, although I wish PvP gear didn’t take up a chunk of bag space. Which is at a premium at all times.
This right here…
Wish there was a storage system for gear only
PvP gear is fine. A skilled pvper will beat a noob in full conquest gear every time. A lot of PvE players who don’t like pvp seem to only do it during comp stomp for mogs. I don’t think any player can really be forced (or enticed) to do content they really don’t want to do.
Stat templates that you can CHOOSE is a good system and works well for gw2 - I don’t understand why we couldn’t have a similar system in place in wow and leave the gearing treadmill for pve.
The gear treadmill is not suited to a competitive pvp environment.
That’s another thing I love about sea of thieves. There is no gearing whatsoever it’s all cosmetic and skill based.
The former system wow had in place wasn’t comprehensive enough.
You know that was tried and was a total disaster, right?
PVP gearing is very simple and far simpler than PVE gearing.
Sure, you may get stomped, I did and do on new 80s, a few times here and there but its still simple.
Getting Conquest gear has never been simpler, I did arenas but, if thats not your thing, you can farm crates, there is almost always a crate farming group active.
My monk: Bregø - Character
Bregø - Achievements (Player vs. Player)
I got all that in like 3 days, if that probably closer to 2 days, admittedly the conquest cap had been increased by the time I did that because I didn’t play the first few weeks of S2.
It’s funny to see pve players thinking that it’s the gear holding them back in pvp. Even if you are in full conquest up against someone in honor gear the dude in honor gear will kick your teeth in if you don’t know what you are doing. You can smoke people easy in just the honor gear.
Gear only really matters at the top end when everyone is around the same skill level and everyone knows what they are doing, but i doubt players like this would ever get to that point.
I think it would be nice if there were the ability to OPT IN to something like equalized gear (or lack thereof - where all stats were set to the same for everyone involved). That would be a ball.
Nah, get good stop relying on the grind to protect you.
Lol cope…
Just stay salty then cuz blizz isnt gonna remove the rpg from the game cuz you’re lazy
PvP gear is pretty good right now
If PvP didn’t suck people might be motivated to gear for it
It would be super fun if devs let us have a “PvP” checkbox that could be paired with the existing Loot Specialization option.
To clarify: ^ Just for the purpose of allowing PvE players to gear for PvP - not in lieu of the current system, but rather congruent or in parallel to it.
Since I just started posting on forums yesterday - I have to go back and edit comments as I’m unable to make new ones. I’m about 60 or so comments into reading this thread and well… The sentiments of PvP players in this thread seem very angry and gatekeepish. After reading what so many of these people have to say, it’s easy to see why people leave WoW all the time for other games that don’t gatekeep. It would seem as though misery loves company.
It’s giving: “I had to no-life this or that so you should have to as well”. There can be two roads that lead to the same place. If PvEers had a route to obtain the same gear (whether the actual PvP gear or even simply transmog appearances) I believe PvPers must fear that they too would also prefer such PvE route… thus shaking their entire foundation. I will just sip my tea and grin as they all spam Comp Stomp because they’d rather PvE their way into PvP gear…
Guys just spam world pvp content while qing for blitz.
Easy, ffs…
Ive legend and elite… who are you replying to?
The ilevel being tied to power was horrible or awesome, depending on your perspective, in twink brakets. Players were literally wearing non-stat white gear but high ilevel, and destroying levelers. I bought and collected some of that gear to pass around to my alts to use while leveling in BGs so I could stand a chance.
