PVP from a twink players perspective, & my solution to fixing it

It’s not a handful, you like to portray that it is.

Bravo.

This was exactly the same solution I suggested in another post on the General Discussion forum.

There’s no need to do anything more than segregate brackets along simple lines, and TWINK PLAYERS NEED NOT BE EXCLUDED*.

For random BG’s anybody can apply and play, and just like now, everybody will be put at the same level cap as designated by the bracket, but what’s different from now is that everybody has the same item level regardless of gear. Sure, some features between one player and the next may differ, but by and large the enormous capability gap between a twink player and the average player will be closed substantially. Average players get what they want here, and that is an even playing field between them and everybody else where their skill matters more than their gear. Talent is scouted out, discovered, and fostered by professional PvP guilds, and everybody else gets to level in a relatively much more pleasant environment.

For Competitive BG’s it should work the same way as it used to in days of old… when you enter, your player and item level are what they are. You get NO player or item level boost or scaling whatsoever. That way players get to take maximum advantage of their character’s gear and level. You enter competitive matches AT YOUR OWN RISK knowing that if you’re wearing bad gear and are below the level cap, you WILL be absolutely annihilated. The reward for taking such a risk will be gained PvP experience as well as leveling experience if you have not disabled it. Twinks get exactly what they want here. People who aren’t afraid to get pounded will go in for the reward, and twink players get to bash them over the head repeatedly.

I believe this solution will solve many of the issues players have with the current system, queue times will as a result decrease by a substantial amount, and the more epic battlegrounds like Alterac Valley become more common as there are enough players to fill them. Competitive battlegrounds legitimately become much MUCH more competitive, and the possibility of monetizing BG tournaments becomes a reality.

C’MON BLIZZARD! THERE’S A MONETARY INCENTIVE HERE!! PAY ATTENTION THIS!!!

*Disclaimer: They won’t be excluded, but as outlined above, they won’t have their overwhelming power when playing in casual BGs.

Oh, now don’t ignore the rest of what I said based on that alone.

I used to post in the GD forums when we had the old format. I’ve just recently gotten back into the forums and am getting used to the new one.

There’s another issue. Being better at the game was brought up as an issue.

That’s right, a complaint about someone being better at the game. Templates wouldn’t stop the whining.

Except with your proposed idea it’s basically template 2.0 and the problem with that is that the player is at the mercy of the dev team on what they consider balanced between classes and we saw how that turned out on the first time around.

Now if you want to throw in a vendor that accepts NEW currency for bg wins that has access to better blues/purples. This is how the prestige implementation should have went. Gain a level, get a token. Get enough tokens buy a piece of gear for ANY slot. While your at it, add enchants to the token vendor that only apply to the new gear.

Get this, and we can talk.

Yes, I consider myself a collector. Why wouldn’t I? My work speaks for itself.
Do you really think I dont play my twinks? I am one of the few twink players who streams content, actively contributes to the community and tries to improve it.

If I didnt play twinks why would I make a thread dedicated to them? Use your brain.

You’re on here talking about “idiots from xpoff ruining BGs” claiming people “cant hang” when you’re concerned about losing your opportunity to farm levelers. If you were even half as competent as you’re portraying yourself as, I would have seen you in a few 39 wargames by now.

Trade-Glitch & Powerleveling services (15-60) available to US players. PM me for more information!

My opinion is more credible than anyone else’s on this website combined. get lost dork

We see what your about, if only your ability to play was as big as that head of yours.

Hmm… so if a player decides to halt exp gain and try their hand at twinking, they can slowly gear up through BG’s?

That could have possibilities, I’m listening.

What? You realize I was just funded a 300kg restoration druid 3 weeks ago because your bracket has no good ones in it, right? You aren’t even in the discussion lol. Please keep “ability to play” off this thread! thanks!

If your twink was what appeared on my character screen when I logged in I’d probably kill myself. I’ve actually heard a lot about Jwl and what they do for multiple brackets despite only twinking 60s myself, I guess BfA rerolls wouldn’t really understand what reputation is. This is really all there is to say:

Common, terrible counter-arguments to common sense bracket separation:

“Matches are still really close even though twinks are around!”

It’s known that twinks don’t necessarily warp faction balance or cause more GY camps (premades aside). The issue is that whether our team wins or loses, our individual contribution to either outcome is tragically diluted. It’s hard to feel like we’re helping when there are those few players we have to avoid like the plague and allies doing all the heavy lifting thanks to their gear rather than their ability.

“There were issues before and there will be issues even if brackets were separated again.”

No one- NO. ONE.- is claiming that a separation will fix every issue in pre-cap battlegrounds. It’s absurd to suggest that we should abstain from making necessary improvements because things would still not be perfect afterwards.

Thank you! everyone read this.

Nobody is going to get their cake, and eat it too. I am just proposing what I believe to be the most beneficial thing for the game as a whole. The twinks ARE THE MINORITY AUDIENCE yet they seem to expect blizzard to cater to their wants. They need to please the majority.

Sorry that my unpopular opinion of twink vs. twink games (games that are actually fun and competitive) is better than farming levelers.

You fellow twink players are acting like slower queue times are the end of the world. we just had 18 level 59s online, in the horde community alone. That being 59* (a bracket that’s only been popular for a year now). Do you really think those 18 players cant start 8v8 WSG wargames or something? C’mon now…If players want to queue battlegrounds, there is no reason we cant with separate queues. The numbers are there.

But there IS a compromise solution that could be agreeable to everybody, and that’s the one I outlined above.

The OP is in lock step with that idea. It would totally work.

The only improvement needed is to separate new players. Twinks/heirloom gear/dungeon gear is all fine together.

Exactly. Hardly ruining Bgs as exaggerated on here.

Woahhhh stop, a whole 18 players are on at 6 pst/9 est. Thats so many ruining Bgs.

Edit: sorry, triple post. On my phone so it was just easier than editing.

Your ability to spend gold does not equal your ability to play. Face it, you have top notch twinks, not denying that. but for someone just hitting 50k on honor kills last year, playing as long as you stated you have, just doesn’t add up.

Wipe your lips, they getting shiny from all that salt

That’s what they said last time too, “we have the numbers!!”. What happened? Oh yea. nothing happened unless you wanted to wait until Thursday at 9pm in hopes that there was enough players and you weren’t playing an OP spec that was acceptable to “the community”.

Keep your wargames, playing with the likes of you again… i’ll pass.

Was that when battlegroups still existed though? Genuine question- I don’t know. Queues may not be so punishing nowadays with battlegroups gone.
