Pvp: Fistweaver vs Mistweaver?

coming back from a long break, is this still a thing? or did they combine the 2?

Fistweave dungeons
Mistweave raids

how about pvp?

Arenas

You can play either of them.

FW works really well in some comps, like Ret/FW (2’s), Ret/Warr/FW (3’s)… something that enables FW and can help them to stay on a target because they need to punch to heal.

You can also just play a Castweaver in the comp, or some kind of Turbo, and healbot max range. Castweaver is also decent in wizard comps, like MLChi.

BGs/RBGs/BGBs

Probably want to go Castweaver here, although, you can go FW for fun (especially in random BGs or low MMR RBGs/BGBs).

The problem with FW, IMO, is that a lot of people have figured them out and have discovered their weakness: CC. A FW that is dealing with constant CC is going to fall behind rapidly in healing and struggle to make up lost ground due to their favoured stat weights avoiding Mastery, unlike Castweaver.

Epic BGs

Castweaver.

WPVP

Either.

In summation: It’s a good time to play a MW in PVP, and MW in TWW is looking promising as well. You can pretty much play them however you want (FW or Castweaver), bearing in mind the strengths and weaknesses of both playstyles.

ty my good sir

You can do either any any content rn. They’re both good for anything.
I gravitate towards Fistweaving rather than Casting or Hybrid setups some people run.

In Raids, Fistweaving, to me, is much more enjoyable than playing with the Raid Frames, and my performance is quite impressive for what I have to work with, considering I’m always behind at least 12+ Item Levels below everyone else.
In M+, players gravitate towards Fistweaving since being able to do sizable damage while healing is incredibly valued. Also Interrupts and Leg Sweep.

In PvP, 2s/3s/RBG both are good for each.
In BGs you have to be very used to taking pressure and not panic though when Fistweaving, but if you can get over that hurdle you’ll almost always win every teamfight, either by outright killing them with damage + ToD or beating the other Healers in mana, which is generally what happens there.

In 2s you’ll generally see FW/War or FW/Rog. I haven’t seen any FW/Rets anywhere the last couple months, personally.
In 3s it’ll be the standard FW/Ret/War, though you might run into a slight variation of FW/War/X or FW/Ret/X, but it’ll typically be the first.

In Epic BG’s, just Cast. You can live against 3-4 DPS for a long time, but 5+? Negative. And in Epics there’s so much damage everywhere that if you even peek into the frontline you’ll get hard blasted.

CC isn’t the BIGGEST issue, honestly. The real problem would be against classes that keep you away, which will fortunately be alleviated in TWW.
Really, any class getting CC’d would fall behind. Granted, some recover faster than others depending on circumstance.
But I will concede that that ease of application of CC on a Fistweaver is exponentially easier than other Healers, but at least there are tools around to help mitigate that weakness.

The balance between mastery and haste is a bit hard to figure out for caster pvp, In arena it’s mastery favored for efficiency and in BGs more haste but I wonder if mastery stacking for BG and taking resplendent mist isn’t simply better this season. Haste being king is partly due to optimizing your casting time with precog window, kick juking, and zen focus.

Watching other monks get off those 300k+ mastery procs with gust of mist as thier top heal makes me a little jealous.
