PVP equipment ilvl scaling

So decided to try and get back into bg’s.
Queued and got into twin peaks.

Ilvl 600 rogue and everyone on the other team had nearly double my health.
Kinda demoralizing given I used to love the mode but now I more or less cannot play it because I do more or less no damage.

I fully understand why the items such as “increases ilvl to x while in a bg,” but it’s a casual mode. Keep it for the rated modes but please keep it out of casual mode. I very well assume that for people who have been doing more pve that it just sucks motivation out of playing pvp because u more or less end up being a target dummy for the other team to wail on.

the ilvl scaling is so that PVE players don’t feel forced to chase PvP gear, and so that PvP players don’t feel forced to chase PVE gear. Whenever there is cross over in either direction, the only result is a deluge of complaints from whoever is having to cross over.

I know you dont think of it like this, but PvP players deserve their own gear progression. you are basically asking to compete with geared PvP players at 600 pve ilvl.

So screw the people that would like to do both, then? Because atm that’s what a system like this does for, again, a casual mode.

The feeling of playing this is almost to the level of playing back in WoD and earlier where those who had heirloom gear were able to go around one-shotting those who did not.

I understand giving pvp’ers a progression system for items that doesn’t involve needing to play pve. But this totally eschews people who play PvE. All I’m asking is that if I play pve and want to play some pvp, I can play it without being triple-tapped by someone who has double my health.

The Comp Stomp brawl us up now, that is a good way to get some honor to buy some PvP starter gear.

It’s AB (best bg ever) but the enemy team is all bots so your team can’t lose.

with one set of gear obtained entirely from the other mode? yes.

I’m aware.

Even then, the ai has double my health because they’ve updated it and it’s no longer BfA-era bots.

It doesn’t take much time to obtain a full honour set.

If they removed PvP scaling, then BGs would be flooded by 620-630 ilevel m+ players. Either way it would be bad for an 600 ilevel person.

do the pvp first and upgrade those pieces to start your pve. “doing both” pvp and pve, even casually, takes twice as much time/effort.

also heirloom gear with resil on them didn’t allow anyone to oneshot anything.
i can understand feeling frustrated at being under geared but you should get used to it until you’re fully conquest geared.

Literally doesn’t matter. You’ll still win in less than 2 minutes 99% of games even while being carried. And it takes like a couple hours to get greens even without comp stomp being active. Plus you can get war mode epics just by doing pve word quests. 0 reason to complain right now with how easy everything is.

put the work in and quit trying to ruin pvp/get things handed to you.

my god.

this is an MMO. Say it with me: p.r.o.g.r.e.s.s.i.o.n.

You can have almost your entire character in conquest and bloody tokens gear in like 1 or 2 long playing sessions. There are pvp quests that all give a good amount of conquest. Crates and bloody tokens as well. You should be able to be 626 ilvl for pvp after three random bg wins and a couple pvp quests. It has never been anywhere near as easy to get pvp gear. You don’t even have to enter rated combat at all.

Season 2 will start soon. Have all the fun you can for now, but if you want to be on the same level as the most geared players, it is easy if you cap conquest weekly from the start of a season. Most people can cap conquest available from that week in a day, utilizing quests available on each Tuesday helps.

You do for now still have one advantage. For node capture BG maps you can utilize a few stuns to cap a base or cloak of shadows if facing a magic damage only enemy to cap a node before they remember they need to walk up to you to smack you with their wand or staff to prevent you capping.

PvP is not a casual mode of play, gear, skill, and game knowledge matter a lot. There is no way to make pvp a casual mode, even if stat templates are used. Gear progression feels great for the players that like it like me, and I don’t expect gear progression to be removed as it is a reward for participation and a faster gained reward for success.
