and if switching not combined with the horrendous chore farming … i would go Horde.
Haven’t seen it. I’ve seen some ganking in Ashenvale but that’s it. Everyone is leveling…
I’ve seen people forming groups for pvp, but yea most are leveling. It’s not non-existent though, just not the large scale we should see when most are 60.

Everything you wrote is true regarding Alliance Ashran games… the droves of Alliance constantly AFK’ing out, the very high loss rate, the getting dropped into in-progress games, etc. Wintergrasp is not much better for Alliance, but that’s not really anything new.
Usually what I do when playing an Alliance toon is, if the queue pops “unusually” fast (say the estimated queue is 6 minutes, but my queue pops at 1 minute) I just won’t click the join button, and requeue.
It’s been my experience that whenever I get an “unusually” fast queue pop on Alliance, it’s almost always an in-progress/losing Ashran 
If you get an “unusually” fast queue pop when q’ing Alliance epics, beware…

blizzard even tried to add things in ashran in 8.2.5…lmao.
unless there is black listing i wont do any random epic bgs i dont liek ashran and wintergraps.

A quick idea… play classic
I know I am 2 weeks behind on this one but I notice the OP is alliance. It seems horde is generally doing fine as usual in eBGs, but I’m not sure what their queue times are like. Frankly I’m surprised that many alliance keep solo queuing to play eBGs. Alliance who are able to queue with organized groups (assuming there are some?) are of course in a different more-fun category.
Also, to anyone who spams “just play classic” - Why? I already played vanilla and have no interest in leveling only through PvE quests and dungeons. And then after the disgusting PvE quest grind is over you’re still left well behind the power curve if you’re not the proper class/spec and continually gearing through PvE.
