I need PVPers opinions on this. Which one is better. My Shaman is at 2100 CR and I’ve been trying both on and off.
From what I’ve seen from my own gameplay, Stormbringer is just better hands down and its not even close. I’ve been told Totemic has better consistent pressure, while Stormbringer has better burst, and that IS true, the Stormbringer Ascendance window with Windstrike + Tempest is THE strongest burst in the game rn imo.
However, the consistent pressure isn’t terrible. But Totemic just has like zero burst potential it seems, but the top ranked Enh players are almost all exclusively Totemic.
The constant pressure is amazing, but more importantly, its not based around a 2 minute window that could easily be shut down. Personally, i cant get into totemic no matter how hard i try. I constantly forget to put down the totem lol

Stormbringers can kill you from 40 yards away.
I don’t understand why people play totemic in pvp. The mini shield is nice but it still doesn’t compete imo. At least not in bgs.

That’s exactly the way I feel about it too. Having to constantly remember to throw down Surging Totem and move it is super annoying, and not just that but the Ascd Window is so easy to counter, which is why its insane I see people calling for it to be nerfed.
I play Totemic on maps where you need to spin a base node, and stormbringer for everything else. Totemic does have some burst too, with the sundering tremor proc.
All the people I’ve seen succeeding at totemic are taking the talent where surging totem damage is much higher during ascendence. (Oversurge 150%)
So they have a burst window still.
Just look at Saul or any rank 1 enhance shaman they all run totemic for a reason just look at it, explains itself
