I love when people take the time to post these bad changes. Then continue to then try to pass putting spammable cc on a cd to make this gane even more braindead than it is.
I will explain the concept in simple terms.
Say right now you get 1 solid min of dpsing a target until waddling begins then say it takes 30 sec to reconnect, say you have 7 times you get to be on them during the course of a 10 min fight. You did 6000 dmg per go for a total of 42,000 dmg.
Then add piercing howl to the same scenario and say it gives you an another
15 secs uptime and 15 secs off your downtime, but with your dmg nerf
With the shave on time you get about 2 more minutes of uptime in that 10 min scenario, but with a 3% nerf you go from 100 dps to 97dps and you added 2 minutes of uptime
On the target for a total of 49,470 dmg.
For your uptime to be allowed to increase like that your dmg nerf would have to be much higher than that.
Honestly with the latest changes I would’ve added three things and see how it played it over the next month:

Crimson Vial now 1 mid cooldown (was 30 seconds)

Targeted nerf both pve and pvp at talent Demonic and Demonic appetite. DH has way too much self sustain with that build.

Revert at least partially mana nerfs to Enhance
I think those three along with the changes already set would go a bit further in a healthier direction.
Edit: also would’ve made the WW changes pve only. They really struggle with WW scaling, so that needs a deeper look but definitely no buffs to pvp. Give them some love in raids though.

It wasn’t, you just didn’t understand it. Arms does a lot of damage when it’s not connected. Your change would allow much more uptime with very little nerf to damage. So it would do anywhere from 30-100% more dps with a 3% nerf. Would be pretty big buff to them.

Do you not understand how uptime works? Arms pressure is borderline ridiculous. If you allowed them to sit on targets even more they would be over the top broken. You literally could not get away from them. Self healing or no, arms damage would just shred you. The 3% nerf you proposed would be barely noticeable as you get trampled beneath their plated boots.
All of it. You cant possibly math it out to anywhere near accurate amounts like that.
This post was some “IDEAS” FOR PVP. Noone hadto like them all but saying im just trying to buff arms and ignoring everything else like some ppl have done isnt cool.

I used arbitrary numbers to set the terms of a current normal go. Using those parameters I just gave an off time, an uptime, and how long.
It really doesn’t matter, because again it’s all arbitrary. We can adjust the times and dmg but it doesnt matter in the end.
Your proposed change will always equal a net gain in dmg done.

Raid lead: ‘Great wish you would have done more dmg before you died’
no your changes are just showing how much you hate certain classes by giving them a +50% nerf or outright pruning abilities/mechanics from certain abilities while arms gains piercing howl for whatever reason and just gets a 3% dmg reduction slap in the wrist
same with rogue, minor slap in the wrist with that +5s cd when all other stuns in the game are at least 45s cd long
This shows how narrow minded some replies are. I clearly didnt just give arms a 3% dmg nerf i took the 15% bonus dmg from sharpened and took 10% of its healing reduc.
But of course ignore what you and everyone else needs to to make it suit you
I like the 25% heal off of MS. With Striking the Anvil, I can heal for 25% of it’s damage ever 2 seconds. That’s pretty neat!
Your changes to fire mage would take the spec from god tier to garbage tier almost immediately. Poly and fear and clone being given CDs is a massive, MASSIVE change. Not being able to re-poly a dispel would be huge. I’m not saying it would delete mage but you’d need substantial shifts to offset it. Also agreed that gpyro spam is toxic and combust damage is too high but those would also be large changes. No other changes are currently needed to fire or frost until the 40% shield nerf goes live and people have time to see how it impacts play.
