Boosting in PVE is ridiculous, but I’m not against it. If you have more money than friends, by all means spend hours laying dead on the floor during boss fights.
I’m only against boosting in Rated pvp. There’s nothing more discouraging that getting a decent group together for some 1400 rbgs when suddenly you’re matched with 8/10 people with 1800 rating, high ilvl, etc etc, and they’ve got two piddly little 1200 in there to bring their matchmaking down. Then you spend 10 minutes getting absolutely stomped.
Boosting is fine in PVE, but those PAYEEs are literally buying MMMYYY rating, and IIIMMM not getting gold. My rating is getting stolen, like a thief who steals a television and sells it at a pawn shop.
It really, really makes the 1200-1550 bracket of real players in the group-finder suuuuuuper salty people. It makes games toxic. Or makes people AFK When the loading screen finishes and you see that carry group looking across the field at you and so people just leave or afk or just don’t try their hardest.
Blizzard matchmaking is so obviously super busted it’s a wonder anyone tries at all. I can’t post pictures on here, but I got one picture, while on my mage with 0 rating in a group where the highest rating on my side was 1400. I’m missing 4 from my side, but theyre all lower than the last one i list.
My team:
1479
1142
1140
957
768
384
0 (not pictured, me)
Matchmaking value: 1563
Them:
1806
1661
1599
1514
1463
1344
1331
1331
954
576
Matchmaking value: 1562
I checked, double checked and triple checked.
THOSE ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE SAME BRACKET OF PLAYER.
I dont expect blizz to do anything about it seeing as 768 and 384 probably paid blizzard real money to buy gold to buy this boost.
or not… maybe this was just some high players helping their low buddies…
but it happens so much that there seem to be a rediculous number of super generous people willing to risk their 1600+ rating running their lowbie buddies through rbgs. Which is weird cause the wow community IIIII know wont even let you join a heroic raid pug unless you already beat the raid within 2 weeks of a tier or super high raiderio before you can go get your raider io.
maybe pvpers are just more generous?
I doubt that a lot considering rating is the only thing in the game that can be taken from you on failure. You don’t lose gear when you don’t time a key, don’t lose achievements when you wipe on a boss, but you do lose it when you lose a match.
So therefore, and long story short. Boosting in RATED pvp is deeply, deeeeeeeply unfair. It’s not a fair fight. The system that’s supposed to make it a fair fight doesn’t actually work, and then your rating literally gets stolen from you.
It’s bullsh t.
