PvP AV Bans

I don’t think you know what that means

Anything else is worthless. Problem is the false positives. Their review/appeals process is just as much a problem as every other system they have.

That’s because it’s automated.
Mass reports trigger action.
Auto deny first appeal
Human eyes don’t actually read anything until the second appeal

They trigger the GM to review you and then you get a ban.

IF you get mass reported what happens is you get DC’d and then you can log back in but you’re muted at most (cant talk in chat)

Mass reports from the bot army, not sure if that’s real or not… but I have heard all kinds of conflicting tales on that… The only REAL action I have seen is when they banned AoE guy for automation via Multi-boxing and while he was multi-boxing I know AoE guy does not auotmate.

Never known someone who was squeaky clean to get a ban, don’t be mad when you get caught, if you think you’ve gotten away with something it just hasn’t caught up yet.

There is zero evidence this step actually takes place, beyond blizzard’s PR.

I’d add, even if it does occur, it’s likely to be an underpaid wage slave who has no where near the appropriate amount time within which to actually read the issue, let alone investigate it as they try and keep up with some corporate mandated ticket quota.

Time spent engaging each specific ticket, for example would go wonders towards restoring faith… Sharing the exact ticket quotas per day and hour would as well.

There have been former employees mentioning how convoluted the system is, their job isn’t to respond to tickets, it’s too clear a ticket queu.

I have said it before and will say it again. I am sure if they say there are people reviewing it, there are people reviewing it. However, I would bet that the review is of automatically prepared data. Without much ability or desire to look too closely at anything.

You are correct.

The only review that they do is data received on a spreadsheet. No video evidence, just flagged by an algorithm.

Person gets the data list and then pops in your ban, that’s all the review you get.

Abuse of the automated ban system happens and it has been proven, just go to YouTube and look up videos on it.

Literally people in AV will threaten to (and will) report you if you “stay north to defend” or if you’re getting farmed at the graveyard and can’t move or if you don’t zug straight for the boss instead of capping an objective. People get hit with 2 week bans for playing AV how it was intended all because some dude opens the map and tells the entire raid to mass report so-and-so simply for being too north on the map, without any context. If you don’t believe this happens, you are delusional.

Yeah, I can testify to that. I am so mad. I saw 3 horde with one alliance players all cuddle in our spawn point. I went to kill one horde player and that alliance player said no. Next I got banned for 2 weeks. Shouldn’t those four players get banned instead of me? I was not participating in AV for PvP? lol
