Anybody playing Holy in pvp? Curious to how its been working out.
Any do’s and don’ts? Must have add on, spells?

What is your PvP/holy experience and What do you intend to play? Imo both of those make a huge difference in playstyle. I spend most my time in world PvP and unrated non epic bgs. If you’re in for arena or rated bgs I can’t help much. My current take from world/bg/skirmish. World (solo) PvP oracle is miles ahead. For holy I think this is only place Mind games is viable. It feels very average but at least it’s something to use if you’re spell locked or have a clean fear in. Catharsis is quite strong but again if not in world the value from it drops significantly. The damage reduce and shield from oracle pretty much insta kiboshes a kill attempt which is a pretty cool and new trick for holy.
Epic BGs will be a lot more healing req and archon will most likely see a lot more play for the aoe healing halo and for the free empowered flash heals, as mana becomes much more of an issue too. Random small bgs can def go either way based on your playstyle (oracle definitely feels like you go more for the kill).
Anyway my thoughts are a bit scattered, if you’re testing the holy waters in BGs to get gear, I would suggest taking chastise and empiryal blaze for offence and possibly that’s it, and gravitate towards an M+ build .
I’ve been enjoying oracle holy since the latest buff to prayer of mending. Mana is still a problem in longer games but the healing output is great. In shuffle mana shouldn’t matter as much with shorter rounds.
I play a lot of world PvP and random non-epic BGs as holy. I feel like Oracle is miles ahead of Archon since the PoM buff in these settings. In large scale team fights I feel Archon may pull ahead, but I haven’t really tested that too much. The utility Orcale brings and the potential ST damage you can do with it is pretty great.
My main complaint with holy PvP right now is mana problems with long fights (especially BGs) and the complete lack of mobility.
Doing BGs and Arena, and running with Oracle.
It’s insanely strong. More than what most realise right now.
You can buff Heal to make it instant-cast and as powerful (if not more) than Serenity.
Apply PoM to four targets without CD, that also applies a Shield at 100% effectiveness and Talented to apply Feather.
Premonition of Solace applies a shield that can stack with PW: Shield that can get as high as 3.5 million absorb.

Holy is pure throughput healing. Their simplicity is a double edge sword. They have great output, but anything that undercuts that throughput hurts.
that said we have a ton of tools, and some of the best burst healing in the game. It’s not the best for PvP as PvP tends to favor more mitigation mechanics, but holy can be great when played well, as with most healers.
You’re basically a white mage from Final fantasy, brimming with light and radiating overwhelming power.
Sorry I don’t have more specifics for you. My basic point is, if you enjoy the spec, play it in PvP. Every class has pain points, but if you can minimize weaknesses and play to your strengths it will make for a better gaming experience.

Can any experienced holy PvPers tell me if PW shield is ever worth casting? Setting up my alt priests bars and I’m running out of space.
Yes it’s worth casting, you should be using the speedboost with PW:S, also its an instant, these two things make it very useful while being trained.

Any tips on racials? Void elf seems good since holy casts a decent amount, dwarf seems good against feral/assass/Bm and any class with silence, gnome could be decent, orc also seems very good.
Holy oracle pumps. With the recent buffs, doing 300m heals in bgb easy. Its better imo than disc if youre falling behind with many team mates low hp.
Archon holy is fun for team fights. Halo needs buff as its lacking for a 1 min cd. You can spec into 16.5 seconds of angel form every 2 mins.

I only cast it on myself if Im out of feathers and need a short boost of speed.
Otherwise it’s a fairly weak spell for the amount of mana it consumes. It’s best applied with PoM via Talents (Oracle).
I only really do battlegrounds and my holy priest is my main character.
With that being said, i always and i mean ALWAYS top charts with healing output, first or second even when my team loses. Rarely do i come in third place with healing output or honorable kills.
Also i have a very high survivability in battlegrounds and epic battlegrounds, a godly feeling.
No clue how to play disc and neither does it interest me.
It’s terrible. There’s a reason they are 300-600 points below everyone else in every pvp field. Holy’s niche thing is supposed to me high heals as the trade off for having below average movement, CC, Mana cost, cast times, and defensives…but unfortunately even when you vs noobs that literally let you free cast all match you still struggle to outheal the damage of many classes this season…and thats not even including having someone stun, clone, rep, poly, etc (basically all the things that holy cant do without STUNNING THEMSELVES). but having said all that, holy doesnt even have its niche thing, as every other healer can put out the same healing now as a holy priest. AND ALL WHILST RETAINING THEIR ORIGINAL NICHE THINGS LIKE SPAMMABLE CC, INTERUPTS AS A HEALER, MULTIPLE EXTERNAL DR’S, LOW MANA COST AND BEING ABLE TO CAST 90 PERCENT OF THE REQUIRED HEALING AS INSTANT CASTS. Holy is terrible atm, I dont get why some people are talking it up when all the top holy priests and glad holy priests are so far behind. For a lot of this expansion you have to go down to top 70-100 of other classes ratings just to finally find the rank 1 holy. Hopefully they fix soon. Also a lot of the tooltips for holy and enchantments/embellishments are wrong and don’t even work properly. Blizz really messed up.
