Do we have any idea how small the pvp community actually is? I’m not talking about people who occasionally do a random BG or who occasionally joins a friends RBG. I mean how small is the pop that actually main and focuses on climbing arena and Rbg latter? I bet it’s less than 10% of wows total players? I have no clue anyone know this?

Uh, kind of hard to get an idea of just how many people actively pvp because most just do solo/random/world stuff that doesn’t have a ladder.

Already more actual evidence than you will get from anyone claiming “PvP is a mini game”. The only possible argument against this would be somehow the interests of the players massively shifted over the years even though that goes against common sense.

They were cool in 2014, before Blizzard decided to make gear a non-factor.
Everyone going in with a baseline amount of health despite their actual gear level (leveling greens scale up to a certain amount) just turned BGs into an absolute mess where solo kills are rarely achieved and everyone’s first instinct is to run to a healer.
MoP and WoD era BGs were super underrated and Legion basically took us down a dark road where gear meant nothing in a gear-based game. I get the logic was “skill should triumph” but gy farms were fun.
The arena population has consistently been roughly 10% of the most popular pve mode at the time
I’ll occasionally expansion to expansion starting with mop check the ladder total vs the m+ total or wowprog guild totals and it’s pretty reliably or consistently been roughly 10%
That doesn’t filter out people who do both; I know a TON of people who do both so if we’re talking strictly unique players? Prob 6-7%
ofc that’s just using the information we’re given and likely isn’t insanely accurate but there’s no way it’s too far off
Dragonflight started with HUGE participation but the RMT folks took over the pvp brackets monetizing and gatekeeping to sell ratings rewards… And it killed rated pvp, the player base quit.
Looks like they are at it again… I dont blame them, I blame Blizzard for allowing all of this corruption in their game.

About 10% of PvP players do Arena. It’s a very niche mini-game that has never really panned out as a format. It’s not really MMO PvP so doesn’t appeal to many players even PvPers.
Of course this is a PvE game so only about 10-15% of the population does PvP. Although you will get PvE players engaging in WPvP and BGs etc.
In the classic → mop era, pvp was much more popular than it is today.
Sadly blizzard has never known how to make good pvp decisions ( in any of their games).

How does this counter what I said? Oh right it doesn’t.
Ontop of that no one is talking about Heroic Raiding which most PvE players don’t do either. Some comment years ago that has no relevance isn’t a counter point.
As you’ve been previously told: your opinions arent fact.
Heres some “facts” for you.
Pve is an unfun mini game that never really panned out. Most people only raid so they can hit harder in the arena. They have to make pve gear strong in pvp so they can get people into the raid. When pvp gear is as good or better raid participation goes down.
On the rated side especially, the pvp community is quite small. WoW just isn’t a pvp game.

This really feels like low participation for a season 1 honestly. Especially compared to df season 1 or sl season 1. Thoughts?
It just feels like that cause every one is playing disc, frost mage, aff, with the occasional fury thrown in.
