So, it’s about 10 hours till kick-off, and I still cannot decide if I want to play my character on a PVE or RP SERVER… I really want to try RP, but some of the things I’ve been reading in the forums have me questioning… I really want to avoid drama at all costs, and am seeking an experience close to how it was in Jan 2005 when I started playing… but I also think the RP would be a much more immersive experience. I’ve never RP’d, so it would also be a new experience for me - I’ve been working on a brief backstory for my Gnome the past few days… I simply do not know which way to go… thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks!
I’m personally going PVE-RP server. I love pvp, however all the body camping just isn’t my cup of tea. RP can be fun, but don’t be scared off by the hardcore RPers. Live and let live. RP the way you want, and find a group of friends that share your style/interest.

Do the RP server and just RP when you feel like… Its not like you’re required to RP nonstop while you’re on there.

RP isn’t that hard. And classic by its very nature facilitates RP. Want to get your mighty weapons enchanted with powerful magics? Seek out an enchanter and RP your way to a more powerful sword.
Give it a try. You will certainly find people to teach you the RP ropes. And most RP happens in /say and /guild, so don’t sweat the general channels too much. Zone chats or trade are too much like telepathy so most do not use them for RP, just the normal stuff.
RP will always have Drama, getting caught up in it is mostly up to you though. If you never RP’d it’s a good time to start. Though honestly do what you want. There’s also Rp-PVP if you want a more brutal side of RP etc.
Hey there. You’re going to find drama wherever you go. It may take different forms, but it’s always there waiting. Go with what will engage you the most. If you go on an RP realm and find it’s not for you, stop roleplaying. 
You never know though, RP may br just the thing you were missing but never knew it. That’s what happened to me.

I vote the RP realm, once everything settles down the RPer’s will have stuck around and made their own community you wouldn’t want to miss!

Also, if you look at the responses this is another reason I love RP servers. The community is more than likely going to be more helpful, more friendly, and an overall laid back experience in comparison to the pvp environment.

I’m going RP if only because I want to make a character with the backstory that he had a 15 year long fever dream about a dragon destroying Azeroth and the Horde and Alliance fought in a pandaland where the ground attacked you if you became too violent.
For those wanting to take part in RP and are alittle new and worried about it come on over to Grob the RPPVP server and join up with Clan Hammersong a dwarf/gnome guild which is calling Dun Garok in hillsbrad home. The ganking and body camping may be alittle scary but the best way to fight this is to be with a group that will fight back and who better then a bunch of dwarves and gnomes? Interested?
