With Plunderstorm locking a reward track behind what is essentially pvp battle royal I am seeing a worrying trend in PvE support/funding for dev being scraped, not entirely obviously but it is trending downward.
When influencer piratesoftware did his vid on starcraft essentialy being scrapped cause selling a skin would be cheaper and more profitable than investing in making content I was skeptical.
But I am seeing the trend across the other games with Overwatch and their PvE missions and progression mode scrapped.
Hearthstone use to have PvE adventures, Rastakans rumble and Gilneas hunt were some my fav content in there, a roguelike in HS is epic. But you couldn’t get the reward track progression from that and eventually they stopped making pve content and pve support in the game was gone. I hope for a evergreen roguelike mode there that can be done for the daily and quest progression…
starcraft and WC3 speak for them selves…
Now plunder storm, I get some like pvp and thats great power to them. Where was the pve content support. I know its less invensment when you can sell a skin every month or so and the content is fighting other players so you don’t need invest funds there… Just hope PvE players will have something to come back to down the line and for the players of the other titles to not just wow.
I can tell you, if I were a pvper, I would more upset than I am right now. PvPers have been feeling neglected for years, and then they put out this stuff? Something that doesnt even give honor or conquest or Marks? That would be a middle finger to me.
The Trend is in all their other properties, and they will take a similar monetization to wow, a battle royal is ground work for that kind of battlepass and micros. Its coming, im not saying from the devs but from the suits up top
I was trying to find a way to formulate an argument to highlight how ridiculous this thread is, but then I decided to conserve the brain power because I’m about to fire up Dark Souls 3 and I cannot afford to waste the mental energy on this.
Just know that you’re wrong and I think you’re a silly billy OP.

Uhm really? All of their other properties? You named ones that were primarily designed to be pvp and only scrapped pve items due to their failures in the general audience or to pass muster from qc.
Things like Diablo IV seem to stand in direct opposition in that its primarily a pve game and has dominated blizzcon as of late, or that poop stain mobile diablo thats also mostly pve…
we have what… one new map for pvp and plunderstorm which… honestly isnt wow pvp at all but sure…
