PvE losing support from bliz higher ups?

With Plunderstorm locking a reward track behind what is essentially pvp battle royal I am seeing a worrying trend in PvE support/funding for dev being scraped, not entirely obviously but it is trending downward.

When influencer piratesoftware did his vid on starcraft essentialy being scrapped cause selling a skin would be cheaper and more profitable than investing in making content I was skeptical.

But I am seeing the trend across the other games with Overwatch and their PvE missions and progression mode scrapped.

Hearthstone use to have PvE adventures, Rastakans rumble and Gilneas hunt were some my fav content in there, a roguelike in HS is epic. But you couldn’t get the reward track progression from that and eventually they stopped making pve content and pve support in the game was gone. I hope for a evergreen roguelike mode there that can be done for the daily and quest progression…

starcraft and WC3 speak for them selves…

Now plunder storm, I get some like pvp and thats great power to them. Where was the pve content support. I know its less invensment when you can sell a skin every month or so and the content is fighting other players so you don’t need invest funds there… Just hope PvE players will have something to come back to down the line and for the players of the other titles to not just wow.

… Where was the pve content support? pve literally dominates almost every pillar of wow. Everything is gonna be alright.

it’s vapid, if anything.

One singular thing added to WoW is not a trend.

Isn’t this the first time PvP got something beyond Arena maps and gimmick variants of old Battlegrounds in, like, a decade?

And it’s technically not even “WoW PvP.” Let them have a cookie.

The devs ship PvP content ONCE and forum carebears like OP are arguing:

Give your head a shake OP.

One of WoW’s strengths has been its ability to have decent content for multiple types of play.

I dont even pvp, but if anything…there should be more regular pvp content added.

I can tell you, if I were a pvper, I would more upset than I am right now. PvPers have been feeling neglected for years, and then they put out this stuff? Something that doesnt even give honor or conquest or Marks? That would be a middle finger to me.

Most of wow is leveling, dungeons and raids what

Well a lot of pvpers are actually really enjoying themselves lol. seems like you just dislike the mode

Oh I know, which only furthers one of my theories.

Yes, obviously having every patch and event except 1 off cycle event be PvE focused is the beginning of the end.

The Trend is in all their other properties, and they will take a similar monetization to wow, a battle royal is ground work for that kind of battlepass and micros. Its coming, im not saying from the devs but from the suits up top

But that trend is irrelevant. Because the other properties you list are often designed to be primarily PVP games.

The devs arent crossed over into other games.

Microtransactions and a battlepass are coming based on plunderstorm being released?

You realize how insane that sounds…right?

I was trying to find a way to formulate an argument to highlight how ridiculous this thread is, but then I decided to conserve the brain power because I’m about to fire up Dark Souls 3 and I cannot afford to waste the mental energy on this.

Just know that you’re wrong and I think you’re a silly billy OP.

A renown track is the same as a battle pass and you need to pay 15$ to have access to it

You do not have to pay anything to specifically access the renown track.

Uhm really? All of their other properties? You named ones that were primarily designed to be pvp and only scrapped pve items due to their failures in the general audience or to pass muster from qc.

Things like Diablo IV seem to stand in direct opposition in that its primarily a pve game and has dominated blizzcon as of late, or that poop stain mobile diablo thats also mostly pve…

we have what… one new map for pvp and plunderstorm which… honestly isnt wow pvp at all but sure…

This.

Blunderstorm is content for nobody. It’s not real pvp and it’s not even wow content.

Honor and conquest are just means to an end. I play every other PvP game based on equal ground and not buying stats out of combat.
