Imagine that you want to play hockey. So, you go to the league and attempt to sign up. They say: “Cool, but skates and other equipment is restricted to players who have successfully completed a season of baseball first. So, go do that and then come back”. Having to do rated PVP to get a heroic level PVE weapons feels like that right now.
Meanwhile, PvP players screaming internally because the last 4 expansions have had them PvEing for the best PvP gear.
Still do don’t they? Is elite gear same as mythic ilvl?
I think 2400 is 226, which is mythic raid ilvl. 2100 is 220, which is heroic SLG and Denathrius.
That said, I think a lot of top end PvPers supplement their gear with PvE gear, especially in the trinket slot. A lot of PvE trinkets are just more impactful than the 40% vers buff.
I think I’m going to do it! I want an upgrade for my LFR bow. I’m going for the conquest wep.
dis a raiding game though. PvP is always a side endeavor. Hence, not all classes are good in PvP.
until they do the GW2 thing (your toon has a baseline set of power), PvP will always be unbalanced and a crap shoot.
do i agree with that. No.
I wish PvP was actually a main part of this game. We can have PvE and PvP together, as separate entities. I dont want PvPers to be forced to do PvE, and vise versa. If you do want to do both, i dont want you to have 2 or more different toons to have to do it either lol (like me, i play a DH and a DK, both are crap in PvP right now /cry . i pvp on my priest and mage right now)
1800 is 220 gear, 2100 is 226 gear, 2400 is 233 weapons.
What?! Your apology is completely wrong.
With the covenant gear being 197, it’s more like.
“Here is a enough gear to get you into the game. You’ll get upgrades as you play more.”
I concur. I wish PvP would get the effort put into it that it deserves. That was one thing I missed about Dawn of War:Age of Reckoning was that the devs could competently make it so skills in siege acted differently than they did out in the world so you could have the best of both worlds.
Here however, Blizzard expects people to be able to interrupt spells, dance around pits of flame all while juggling a debuff or buff while still dpsing/tanking/healing but it’s “too confusing” to read a tooltip that just says it deals less damage or provides a specific debuff with a skill specifically balanced for PvP purposes.
Which I think is OK in an MMO. I’m fine with PvE players seeing PvP items that they think yeah that is actually good and I want that. Same with PvP players aspiring for top arena seeing a dungeon or raid trinket and wanting it. You should never feel like you have to dip heavily into the other (unless you actively do both) but having to dip your toes in it to be the very best (like no one ever was) is the nature of an MMO.
The issue we have for PvE is that it is a pure lotto system and with greatly diminished loot people are really feeling it. Do a dungeon, maybe get an item. Do a raid, maybe get an item. Do lots of content and get a random item that may or may not be an upgrade at the end of the week. There is no specific gearing path it’s just hope for the best each week.
And the ONLY way to attempt to offset it is to be guilded so when you kill bosses people are willingly offering up drops. I can’t be 100% sure which drops I got myself from CN as opposed to getting it offered up for trade. I know my trinket from this week and my gloves from last week were given via trade.
Okay, I wasn’t sure. Thanks for the info, though. Maybe one day I can be 1800, I know I’m garbage.
