Putting Filtered Chats & mailbox sending? Into World Of Warcraft

Discussion Introduction

HELLO EVERYONE! Was wanting to share with this everyone today. So been recently finding out time and time again. That World Of Warcraft chats have been flooded with the following information: Real life discussion that have nothing to do with the game, Rude comments, personal information such as: Phone Number, Emails etc. etc. Spamming Mutiple text of the same this could be: From Player to Player, or whatever else.

What are the pros for doing this?

  1. Safeguards peoples’ real-life information and helps to prevent unwanted hackings, or trolling to roleplays. Puts place of the game than put real life, into the fancy world

  2. Spamming or zone disruption in the video game. Then just having to ignore someone.

  3. Stops having to deal with the ‘Report’ system. Unless: Sabanosh and whatever else.

  4. Prevents from repeated Phases in ‘Trade Chats’, and unwanted unfair Game sports.

  5. Helps follow the policies in the game, without having to headcap and creates more positive environment to the game.

  6. Prevents mail spamming, stops the process of something becoming undetected

Hope this is very helpful. Leave some feedback about the topic below
Did you feel like that didn’t help? Or what is your option about the situation of the topic. Would love to hear what you guys have to say.

Greetings Raloiistra, welcome to the forums.

I don’t find myself personally agreeing with the suggestion for the following reasons:

  1. There is a filter for chat albeit mostly for potentially offensive words
  2. I don’t mind people talking in trade especially if it’s not busy
  3. I felt this could pick up a fair few false positives in its sweep by design

Was in the middle of typing something similar, but you beat me to it and you’re correct.

I’m super confused, what’s an ‘unwanted unfair Game sport’?

Edit: Spamming links to this thread in other threads isn’t going to get the results you want

They probably lost in a casino chat game.

Likely referring to selling runs.

(OP I don’t think you’re going to garner much support linking this to threads that have nothing to do with your suggestion.)

D: How could you ever get upset at gambling

Is this like “Jagex censors your password, watch: ********” that we are suggesting? I’m not seeing that being useful, I can’t imagine how you would accidentally post your account information into chat.

I understand where you’re coming from, but there’s already a chat filter, you just need to enable it.

As for censoring chat, I disagree with this a lot. There are a few games out there as of now that do this, but one I know of is Smite 2. It has a filter on what you can say, and many, many words that shouldn’t be censored are. You could use certain words like “Poop” and it gets blocked. These kinds of features often make the game worse, because the programs behind it are incredibly sensitive. You could be having a normal conversation, using non offensive words, and a good chunk of what you’re trying to say will automatically get blocked.

I mean no offense, but I really hope that Blizzard never puts in such a feature.

Here to point out all this person is doing is going around to every forum and thread they can and spam linking to this post. Remember to report them for spam

Honestly. With the way been hearing through the entire game play. Recently. have noticed that people often complain about the topics, that are being displayed in chats. Especially Trade Chat. Really, think even way how the rules are set-up. It would make more sense than just posting ‘report’. When the reports should really only be for: Game Play Stabosh and Cheating. Otherwise, see some of the points like: free posting and stuff.

But like with the: Character names, guild names and off-topic conversation in World Of Warcraft. Its kind destroys peoples’ trust, to play the game. This has been from multiple players saying this, not just including me.

Spamming in Trade chat multiple times etc etc.

…was this written by AI? It all reads so strangely.

I think I get the gist, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen people’s account information get spammed anywhere like the OP suggests.

The OP’s post was not coherent to me at all, but I have also never seen real info posted in game anywhere, ever, so I am clueless

Yah. Somewhat. Just feel like the posting in spamming in Trade chats and stuff are sort of out of control. Depending on what realm you go to. Thought, would kind of work. But, would be better than just having to report: Spamming bots, trolling and so forth.

I have the perfect filter. I disable all chats except Guild and Party (since I tend to only group with friends). The internet is anonymity + keyboards - adult supervision = jack wagons.

That’s not inherently against the Code of Conduct. Only if it violates the rules of the CoC is it a problem.

Report them.

Never seen this, personally. Report it. Though it’s probably fake anyway.

Report it.

Doing what? You gave absolutely zero details of what you want done.

I think they put it through a Trumpspeak filter…

Client-side blacklist would be a BIS idea, honestly.

I don’t think I’ve seen people spam emails and phone numbers in chat. Usually it’s people posting memes or just having discussions. I think you’re looking for a solution to a problem that doesn’t really exist.
