Stated mission by Blizzard on putting T2 on reals vendor is to enable access to set bonuses. In theory you have access to your any bonus through some combination of T1/T2/shoulder enchant… but this falls apart utterly when factoring in that you need to wear undead slaying wrists and gloves in Naxx. Meaning you have no good way of accessing T2 4-pc if you are catching up.
Yes, we want to keep BWL alive; right now BWL is thriving but utterly hostile to certain classes who have good class drops. No one invites Ret Paladins to their raid because they want to HR blood which means it is hell to try to get t2 in other slots. It’s just unpleasant.
Please put t2 helm, shoulders, pants, and chest on vendor for 50 reals. That’s sufficiently expensive such that going the long way around is quite grueling but alleviates some of the woes of trying to catch a Ret up who has certain mandatory set bonuses.
It won’t. BWL is thriving Ally side to the point many Rets can’t even get into raids because so many are trying to get in. You could scale back the number of Rets trying to get in and still see raids filled based on NT, DFT, class trinket, etc.
No. Here’s the demented thing - I can pug Naxx but I can’t pug BWL. Because everyone who pugs Naxx wants to pug Naxx, but not everyone who wants to pug Naxx wants to pug BWL. Some classes disproportionately still need old tier bonuses which skews against certain classes, like Ret.
My rat friggin Ret has run Naxx with some blue gear in but I get declined for BWL because the blend of classes who actually need BWL is so tilted. You don’t see this issue with MC because people run MC for reals primarily.
This is such a disproportionately higher effort to gear a Ret than any other spec. I can pre-BIS a Mage or Priest with ease but somehow as a Ret it is okay to make players create their own 20 man raids because of an oversight from Blizzard in the sanctified system?
And yes, I consider it an oversight. The goal of the real vendor was to allow players to get any T1 or T2 set bonuses they needed prior to Naxx, while seemingly forgetting that the undead slaying set overlapped with 2/4 of the T2 slots. This makes it impossible to have all of your T2 bonuses in Naxx with reals.
Here’s some parses from my main. This comment you made actually strengthens the hell out of my argument. Without Ret set bonuses Ret can barely do damage.
I’m looking at your gear on the armory and it’s hilarious how you want more gear added to the real vendor, yet you haven’t purchased any tier 2 from the real vendor. No wonder you are denied from pugs.
Doing Naxx in a pug without core Ret set bonuses feels awful from a gameplay PoV. It’s not that fun. Green parsing on an alt as a player who puts up purples oranges and pinks feels awful, but the gear “choices” are limited for catching up.
you deserve free gear because you feel bad? kekw. try actually gearing up your alt with the welfare gear that exists right now. maybe you wont get denied from pugs.
