We are currently in the Alpha phase about to go to beta, yet blizzard doesn’t have this main system of the expac on alpha. Can we please get it on alpha so you can get all the feedback asap, cause currently it already looks a mess.
They’re probably going to roll out more Covenant content (Soulbinds etc.) after Wednesday’s stream.
Obligatory, “it’s only alpha don’t worry about it yet, things aren’t set in stone” comment.
And they better respond to feedback cause I dont want another BFA.
I’m fairly certain at this point that Blizzard doesn’t actually show us content and features until it’s too late for them to be willing to make significant changes to said content and features.
Probably safe to assume that if you’re playing Alpha/Beta, you’re just there as a load test and to find bugs.
They’ve already made some significant changes to stuff based on tester feedback. Like with the Torghast timers, for example. Or Arms mastery. Or Fire’s Ignite spreading. etc.
How do you know they are ‘about to go into beta’. I don’t think blizzard actually indicated when beta was happening. And they can’t put on alpha what they don’t have finished yet.
If they want to have a decent beta and release this year, it has to come out like this month.
People are expecting a beta announcement during stream wed for either this week or the next.
fair enough
Yes I know people are expecting that, but no point in having beta when they don’t have everything ready to test yet.
I don’t think a complete run through of the leveling in Shadowlands is still enabled. And you need to have that ready to get characters to max level to test some of these things.
At this point they internally probably have everything done, but they don’t release it all at once because it wouldn’t be very focused testing.
Like legendaries are being added each build now and the soul-binds are in just not activated.
Leveling, dungeons, and raids can all be easily mostly tested on beta though, they are having problems with not enough people on right now.
They do need to make sure that all the covenant systems are in place for testing. BFA was a mess of untested and unbalanced systems, it would be nice if this time around they don’t make the same mistake.
does blizzard know that raids can be tested?
They tested azerite, they just didn’t care to do what was needed to fix it.
What? No clue what you mean.
well you seem to be speaking on their behalf, I am just wondering where you were getting your information
Actually part of it being Alpha means they have not added all features and are still adding them as well as deep testing them.
I’ve just been through many alphas and betas and know how they go.
We know that soul-binds are in the game and that 5-6 classes of legendaries are added.
And they test dungeons/raids/leveling more during beta than alpha.
It’s probably going to be the same for Covenants, honestly. I’ve been thinking about how to balance Covenants with Blizzard’s self-imposed restrictions of making Covenant choice being a semi-permanent choice that “matters” and isn’t meant to be swapped easily. It’s… not easy.
Well, they have backup on that, easy swapping, they’ve already said it. It’ll probably end up being you pick a covenant for the questing/cosmetic purposes, but can switch around the power.
