Purging world buffs in raids would be more authentic to the original vanilla experience

Guilds were not stacking world buffs in original vanilla until naxx. World buff stacking is a private server meta that is antithetical to how people actually played the game back in the day.

This meta takes content that is already easy and turns them into literal target dummies. Making the choice on an individual level to not use them is worthless. Even if you are in a casual guild that tolerates this, most of your guildies will use them and ruin the experience of the raid.

PURGE WORLD BUFFS FROM RAIDS. They are called world buffs after all… and belong in the open world.

They definitely need to get rid of the world buff meta. Just have them disappear when you enter a raid. It’s so silly.

The servers are named after the DM tribute buffs. That should tell you pretty clearly how the devs view world buffs. As much as I would rather not have world buffs, it is a losing position to demand removing them.

Removing vanilla features does not make the game more vanilla

Apparently you missed the part that said “purge them IN RAIDS”. And “World buffs belong in the open world”.

A meta cultivating that is antithetical to how people actually played the game back in the day and it’s intended experience makes the game less vanilla.

not at all, raiders bring the boofs everyday same time… that needs to stay please

I don’t think you understand a word I said in the title or the post itself. Either you are struggling to reading comprehension or are a troll.

I understand that you don’t like to collect world buffs, if thats the case then you should find a guild that doesn’t require them, but expecting everyone else to go without because you don’t want to spend 30 minutes getting them is pretty wild

At least it would be somewhat if a challenge I suppose. The game is better with no world buffs in raids, or maybe limited to two.

LOL you just revealed you did not read a single word of the post, you just got triggered by the title. You cannot be taken seriously.

Luckily for us the devs don’t take you seriously since they’ve added features from era to make keeping world buffs easier. To answer you, yes I read your post, but I’m intelligent enough to know that your entire premise is flawed since you are lying about authentic vanilla experience to cover up the fact that you don’t want to spend the time getting buffs so you want everyone else to cater to it.

Yet you knee jerked to making a point I did not make, and didn’t engage with what was actually stated inside the post. I doubt it.

Yet apparently too unintelligent or too biased (or both) to understand that this was a non-existent meta in original vanilla. Your mind is unable to comprehend the difference between “authentic to how the game was actually played and intended to be played” and authentic to “what technically existed in the game”. Either that, or you know what I am saying is true but cannot argue against it so you chose to outburst instead.

Thus far you haven’t presented a shred of an argument to what was presented. You have only given emotional outcrys and strawmans.

Honestly I like the little world buff gatherings seeing everyone but totally agreed. Would love them to be gone from Hardcore.

I would bet my entire last paycheck you never hit 60 in actual vanilla, if you even played it. You can remove the world buffs and double the bosses health and they will still be target dummies. If you want an authentic raid experience go play on Cata, the fights there are slightly challenging if thats what you’re looking for.
Your premise that the bosses would have any meaningful or noticeable changes from not having world buffs other than increasing kill times isn’t based on reality.
Your premise that its antithetical to an authentic vanilla experience is also flawed, since we are playing on the 1.12 patch we will never have an authentic experience raiding MC with 1.1 talents. So trying to talk about the “meta” of vanilla in comparison to classic just makes you look like you have no idea what actual vanilla was like

Whats your paypal

3 in fact. I hope you had savings this month.

They are still easy, but the few mechanics that exist are worth something, and at least a portion of the raid has to have their brain turned on.

So according to your premise, we should replicate the original experience even less? Hell no. If it were up to me, I would do progressive patching for vanilla, but 0% chance blizzard will invest resources into reverse engineering to get the old patch data.

Hey look you just discredited yourself by telling an obvious lie that anyone who played vanilla can sniff out.
You’re right, they are easy whether the fight takes 2 minutes or 20 seconds, mechanics don’t matter at all till a few fights in naxx where classic players struggle with negative left positive right.
You can’t replicate the experience at all, the og vanilla experience only exists in your head and you can chase the dragon all you want you will never feel that way about the game again.

Ironically you just did this to yourself if you are seriously arguing that guilds were stacking world buffs pre-naxx. Private servers are definitely all you’ve ever known.

It mattered that 20-25 people followed the mechanics, and the rest could be dead weight. World buff stacking just makes it so they can be entirely ignored outright.

You can replicate as close to the original as possible… and purging world buffs from raids would bring it closer to that and dramatically improve the quality of the raids.

I never said that, I only said that your entire point is flawed from the start because there never will be an authentic experience, not even close. You’re trying to make up an imaginary argument from me because you know you can’t fight my real one.

If you think that it takes even that many then I wonder if you even raided in classic 2019.

Nope, you can remove the world buffs and double the bosses health and it still won’t be remotely close to the original vanilla experience, partially because the community is now full of people like you.

Just take your L with grace and be good till thursday
