The UK and in some parts of Australia.
They should always update old models. For everything else we have Classic. So many racial mounts need updates.
I thought they did those but made them PVP rewards,
Pretty sure my bat mount is like half the size of what it originally was.
Two problems with this:
They started to update the regular mounts
And they also updated the pvp mounts with extra accessories. The regular mounts are still imprisoned in 2004.
And you should see your therapist for how upset this makes you. See we all got rocks to throw you aint special
Yes the community council dropped the ball big time if they allow this to skate on by.
This is something players worked hard for and to have it changed like this is not a good look.
Idk i dont think its good practice for blizz to just change whatever they want about cosmetics out of nowhere and so long after their release. U only dont mind because u like it but honestly comparing the two its not such an obvious upgrade and totally fair for someone to complain.
This thread makes me feel old. Not because of the subject matter but because I never noticed a difference on my firechicken.
Has the wing to body ratio of a sparrow, not a hawk… Bravo Blizzard, bravo!
And you people wonder why you got “boos” at your Blizcons.
any theories on why dynamic flying would cause them to cut the wings so short and make parts of the neck hollow - do we think they took the mount and put it on a new skeleton
What it looks like is that the Feltalon has been matched to the size and general detail of the Voidtalon, as per this:
Imo it looks fine. Now, if they could just make them both flying mounts…
I avoided posting on here until I could see them in-game because the pictures don’t really do it any justice at all.
The issues with the new model: It was made hollower, head, neck, and body have a lot of empty space as if someone removed a part of the mount in the process of making it skyriding capable but forgot to put it back. Oh and the fire particles that drift off of it are still always red regardless of the mount color which was an inconsistency since it existed.
The wings and tail “feather” graphics being clipped down is another thing but I don’t think that is really a problem but a matter of taste.
So yes, it was changed and has a few problems with it though it is also an ancient mount and may not be that high on the priority list to fix. My condolences.
It looks like the original fire hawk rig was smaller than the one that was designed for sky riding.
If you look at the face, you can see where the fire texture is abruptly cut off before it gets to the end of the head, and from the top down or bottom up view, makes the mount look like it has a square head. It’s really distracting and ugly.
Standing on level terrain, the tail looks cropped, but when you jump, the rest of it that is left on the model suddenly comes into view.
The same with the wings cropping into the ground.
The surge forward animation looks absolutely horrible. The bird almost goes into a ‘stand animation’ like it’s on the ground, with the wings coming together and looking like a mess of orange.
I don’t post enough on the forums to post pictures, but someone should screen shot the surge forward animation from the top down view. It’s really bad and shows off many of the model’s flaws.
I would check which skeleton it ended up with based on the animations, as we had a proto drakes skeleton during DF that was dragon riding eligible too.
Especially when they announced another patchfinder.
So we should have never had the racial updates? In a few years you will be one of those people that scream the game looks old and needs a graphical update. Go crawl back into your hole.
I own all three of these mounts and I don’t see the difference between now and then. If the OP didn’t make this thread, I would have never known something changed.
Yeah it is called vehicles.
