Do you all remember back in the day the excuse to why pure dps classes always did more damage is because they could only spec into damage and the reason classes like boomkin and shadow who could do multiple roles and also off heal did less damage because they were hybrids. What happened to that philosophy? How is it that Warlock, Hunter, Mage, are some of the worst dps in the game right now? I’m not surprised rogue has some top specs though; this is the expansion of Meleecraft. What are there, 4 S Tier melees in Mythic+. How is it Shadow is overall the highest ranged dps class in Mythic raid? Just my thoughts, curious what you fine people think about the current situation.

Remember when healers…were pure healers and did no damage.
Remember when off healers healed 30% and did 70% damage.
Remember when pure cc classes like rogue did 40% cc and 60% damage.
Remember when pure dps classes did 100% damage and like 0% healing.
Those were the good days.
Now we have…
Healers doing 100% healing plus 30% damage…hmmm
Off healers doing 30% healing plus 100% damage.
Rogues doing 40% cc plus 100% damage.
Pure dps classes doing 100% damage and 30% healing…
Now hunter pure dps class doing 100% damage and 0 healing still
Back in the day you’d play the class not the spec. e.g. the Shaman tier set bonuses was designed to enhance healing, regardless if you were Ele / Enhance.
That mentality has been abolished for a long time.
Just imagine the absolute chaos that would ensue today if the newest Paladin tier set only buffed heals, or if the new Warrior set only buffed defensive tanking spells.
Yeah that thinking has been abolished…as in fair thinking…thats why blizz is poo now…the original tginking kept things from being the best of both worlds to an extent. Now some classes get everything. They shouldnt have healing damage cc and tankyness. Thats like giving a few guys tanks and the other team only gets a dull spoon to fight them with.
Bring back the old ways…wanna know why they wont…because they dont believe in true balance and mainly because…ele, enhance shamans, rets, shadow priests, and a few other off healers would cry if they couldnt top damage meters while also nearly topping healing meters in the pve arms race.
