Purchased wrong pattern, NPC did not refund currency

I accidently purchased a pattern I already have (Pattern: Concotor’s Clutch instead of the one I needed, Pattern: Prodigy’s Toolbox, from NPC Apothecary Rz in City of Threads). When I went to learn the recipe I realized my mistake and immediately sold it back to the vendor, but he did not return the Artisan’s Acuity and Kej currencies used to purchase it. I did the merchant buyback and repurchased Concotor’s Clutch, so I do have the pattern still, but obviously I cannot do anything with it. Is this a bug with this item that it does not have the usual 2 hour return window? Is there any way I can swap it for a refund of my Artisan’s Acuity (150) and Kej (1500) or for the pattern I do need?

I originally submitted this via Item support and was told that there are other reports of profession item refunds not working as intended and they sent me here for further assistance in recovering my currencies.

When you purchased the item, did a second confirmation box pop up? They usually have that for non-refundable items, if not it would be something for them to be aware of.

Unfortunately not. A GM cannot refund items that have no refund timer or for which it has expired.

No, there was not a confirmation window.

Editing to say that I don’t remember there being a confirmation window, at least. Now that I replied I’m doubting myself, but I really don’t think there was.
