Made a dumb mistake and fully recognize it…was stoked to get my epic mount and was distracted by the GF as we were leaving for a Halloween party.
Meant to get the palomino, but purchased the white steed. You can’t sell it back to the vendor…which sucks. So I sent a ticket to see if I could have it swapped…but as expected got a “polite” no changes response.
So my question to you all…should i just farm 900g and re-buy the mount I wanted or is the frost-saber tiger grind worth it?
I’m only honored with Darn, so from anyone who has done it how bad is the rune cloth turn-ins and how much does it cost?
Thousands… and thousands of gold… Lol. Why are people so obsessed with mounts? I honestly never understood the purpose of having so many different mounts. They all do the same thing.

I don’t think humans can ride nightsabers
Should’ve vendored your gf before buying epic mount imo.

They can. The ones that are completely not doable are night elves and humans not being able to ride rams and mechanostriders. The tooltip for those mounts even says “Races: Dwarf, Gnome” where the tooltip for frostsabers say " Races: Human, Dwarf, Night Elf, Gnome".

Yes, I just said that. Humans can’t ride nightsabers aka NE mounts. Anyone who grinds the rep (alliance) can ride Winterspring frostsabers.

Humans can ride it.
The frostsaber grind is very long only you can answer if it’s worth it for your time spent.
Couple things you seem confused about:
Frostsaber has nothing to do with Darnasus, there are 3 repeatable quests for wintersaber trainers rep.
Once you reach exalted you must still buy the mount for 900g, good news is you should have easily made 900g in runecloth and vendor trash from the grind to exalted.
In Vanilla humans could not ride nightsabers. I thought it was a dumb restriction; glad they removed it
In retail, I have always preferred the mountain horse. Plain and you ride it bareback. Some of the horse mounts in Classic look ridiculous. Like somebody draped an embroidered tablecloth over them.
I’m pretty sure by 1.12 they could, if you were exalted with said faction and the mount was usable by your race. (ie: exemption being Mechanostriders). But I don’t really want to research it
Yeah I remember the strider and nightsaber restriction, glad they removed the latter.
Not if you’re a juicy gnome with some deviate delights on hand
Give the poor white horse a chance, maybe you can bond to her.
so only things I have found in patch notes about mounts are, so your memory of the restriction on nightsabers while was there, was only there for a very short time until patch 1.2.0 lol. (I also stopped at 1.12.0)
Patch 1.2.0 - Players will now be able to purchase and train mounts from other races in their faction. However, you will first need to obtain “Exalted” reputation status with that race in order to do so.
Patch 1.3.0 - Mounts now are Horde or Alliance restricted in the tooltip. We do not intend to allow Horde players to ride Alliance vendor-purchased mounts and vice versa.
Patch 1.4.0 - Level 60 mounts purchased at vendors now have a whole new look. Faster undead mounts already have a different look and so have not changed. The new mounts can be seen standing near the mount vendors. If you have one of the old fast mounts, you can exchange it for one with a new look at the mount vendor.
Patch 1.5.0 - Many of the Swift Mounts have gained eye glows and some have had other tweaks made to them to improve their looks.
Patch 1.6.0 - Pets will now enter passive/follow mode when their masters mount. Clarified the error message when trying to attack while mounted.
No. Humans CAN ride frostsabers. The tooltip includes human among the races. They do have to earn the Darnassus rep to train how, but there’s nothing preventing them from doing so.
(And, in-game you can verify just by going to the vendor and looking at the tool-tip on the mount in question.)
Don’t forget that mounts are bind-on-use, you could just sell it to another player if it hasn’t been ridden yet.
