I was glad for the announcement but still feel they’ll hold back on a few.

Not worgen and gnomes getting to be monks, but like Draenei getting to be warlocks. The class was excluded because warlocks went against the Draenei’s believes so would Blizz still exclude the class or go “but they’re cool with it now”.

He said no promises and they will look at more options down the line. Thats not a confirmation of all classes for all races.

Using arcane magic is against the Night Elves beliefs. In fact, being against the use of arcane magic created and shaped their entire society.

Yet, we have night elf mages.

So I wouldn’t worry about lore (or logic) holding anything back and am sure we will have Draenei warlocks, Undead paladins, Mechagnome shamans, ect within the next two expansions.

The answer is do something along the lines of Night Elf mages.
Step 1. Go back to the lore that says some Man’ari Eredar were forced into joining the legion.
Step 2. Run with a they want a chance at redemption story.
Step 3. Add redskin colors only.
Step 4. Throw the lore out the door and profit!

Ps. Normal Draenei only no light forged Eredar.

You’ll be a worgen druid, and you’ll like it.

Hmm…Blizz does like doing redemption stories.

Well, when you put it that way, I now have to support this. Wouldn’t be a very good dorf, otherwise.

I also want worgen monks, i want to live my werewolf fantasy of fighting with tooth and claw (not druids)

Worgen melee classes should be able to choose between using weapons or using their claws. But that might make Worgen picked as a race so…

No reason too not have worgen monks at this point.

The argument is that Monks DEMAND Pandaren training, and Gilneas was so insanely closed off that there weren’t any behind the wall to allow them to be a thing.

That said, Monks would greatly benefit from being made more “generic” and allowing for Martial Arts expressions from all races, rather than being all Pandas all the time always and forever. We had Lordaeronian and Draenei monks long before Pandas were anything more than a random WC3 Hero, and I for one would love to see what other races could do with the concept.

In a break down video,

It shows Gnome Paladin at 5:03 mark, and just nearing 30secs past, seen at 5:32-5:37 mark. Though they state eventually to those who don’t have monk yet will eventually gain access to the class - specifically clicking on worgen and goblin.

I feel this is the direction Monk will be going here shortly, since everything is so early it might be announced prior to release of expansion (well I hope it does) if they do continue on their current class.race combination discussion.

I feel Draenei and Tauren Rogues came first was due to how long and much they have been requested since TBC. While Worgen and Goblin have had equally the same amount in shorter time frame (since MoP release), this set up feels more build up and release information as they go for a more steady and grander hype build versus all eggs in one basket type deal they are typically known for.

So I am cautiously optimistic that DF will introduce Worgen and Goblin monks, but ready to accept that they may be introduced in a later patch or the following expansion.

So fingers crossed as more and more information get released!

Those races can start out at capital cities though. They dont even need lore explanation at this point. Just that they are a new recruit from the capital during the current timeline. Since we got trainers in the city. Monk would be the next easy class to add and its just 3 races that they need to do it with.

Oddly enough, Goblins can’t either.

The argument is because of their starting area being time-locked or something. That argument no longer exists because of Exile’s Reach.

Some say that Goblins can’t reach any sort of zen or whatever needed to be a martial artist, yet we have Goblin shamans.

I’d love a Goblin monk.

Each time I hear either worgen or goblins can’t be monks cause of < reasons > I always parrot certain things lol.

As well, IIRC, the worgen “fight” clubs happened in the DC/Vertigo comics that had a Fight Club “shh!” element to it when certain worgens were in Stormwind. While the goblins, just pure head-canon parodying Don King (those too young to know, Mike Tyson’s old Manager+Promoter) and Dana White’s current UFC.

Plus I would really love to dust off my Monk and change them into Goblin. Really have a theme and want to keep with it
