Back in the early days of Cata, I’ve seen some Worgen rollers naming themselves some spelling variation of ‘Worgen Freeman’.

Reporting in. Not so much a pun as just one big Theodore Roosevelt joke. These glasses were a godsend btw!

This character is technically a pun because Hermetic Magic and hence Hermetic Mages (Magi) is it’s reference.

Oprahwindfury is a classic

I like the name “Moolan” for a Tauren Monk.

I had a DK named Crackmaster, if you want to know why skip to the end of this video:

The crack master’s eyes seemed dh like to me. I later changed the name to an HP Lovecraft character though, Akeley, the guy who joined the Fungi From Yuggoth and had his brain removed, I always identified more with that character than the protagonist who was afraid of them.

Dude got to live forever in weird dimensions as a brain in a jar, what could possibly be uncool about that? Yeah I discovered ol HP at a weird phase of adolescence. For some reason I always found his monsters (and their human friends) more interesting than his “normal” human characters who always just went insane over things I always felt I could (probably, assuming I could grasp what they were) take like a champ. “Oh that would never drive me insane.” As I said, I was a weird weird kid.

I forgot about this one, it’s a reference to shadowbolts looking like the colors on blacklight posters. I guess it’s a pun because, uh, the character is an appliance?

I would teach you of the wonders and enlightenment of Kaoism, but you non-Tauren probably couldn’t understand.

Kaoism (/ˈkaʊ-/), is a philosophical and spiritual tradition of Tauren origin which emphasizes living in harmony with the Kao (lit. ‘Way’, or Kao). In Kaoism the Kao is the source, pattern and substance of everything that exists. Kaoism teaches about the various disciplines for achieving “perfection” by becoming one with the unplanned rhythms of the universe, called “the way” or “Kao”. Kaoist ethics vary depending on the particular school, but in general tend to emphasize moo wei (action without intention), “naturalness”, simplicity, spontaneity and the Three Treasures: “compassion”, “humility”, and “oneness” with the Earth Mother…

Punniest names? I think that award goes to the Troll Shaman named Supercell.

I saw RipTauren once, many years ago. Never forgot him.

Also, many people apparently don’t know what a pun is.

Well now, let’s not be like King Solomon and start splitting heirs  More than a few of these names aren’t puns per se, but could be classified as “funny” or even “cheeky”.

If I hear hoofbeats in the distance I’m going to think Horse, not Zebra. My facial tissues will always be Kleenex no matter what brand I use. If I see a thread about punny names, I’m going to post my humorous or referential names regardless of their official status as a pun.

Like this guy :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
