Punish M+ leavers

I seriously have no clue why this isn’t implemented somehow. I’m tired of people leaving my keys after 1 wipe on a boss. Can we please punish leavers? I’ve had 3 leavers this week due to either 1 wipe or “garbage route, I’m too good”.

As a ret, it took a while to even get to 15s, and now the entitled little kids get to ruin my keys with no punishment.

i think this is up to addon creators to make. raider-Io probably is most capable.

True. Would love to see a negative IO impact for leaving a key, or even a “completed % of keys” kind of new rating.

You do realize that would also negatively effect your score if something like that was implemented if you were unable to finish a key due to someone leaving.

A rating system or a commenting system would suffice on raiderio.

You should probably remove the name. It is against forum code of conduct to “name and shame”.

If you have a problem with a specific player, you can name them in a ticket, but not on a public* forum

Because it’s a stupid idea.

Lol, this explains a lot.

Ever wonder why they’re leaving? I’d wager their back hurt from carrying.

Invite different people. Every single one of the people who has left your key early is someone you chose to invite. Choose better. It’s not Blizzard’s problem, it’s yours.

Deciding when and with whom you play is a basic right of anyone who pays for a subscription game. It’s not inherently “entitled” or “childish” to decide that you’re not having fun and to fix that problem.

Expecting that other people are required to stay in a group with you until you’ve given them permission to leave? That’s actually entitled and childish.

Another day, another “you owe me your time” thread.
No one owes you their time, you don’t owe anyone your time, punishing people for leaving is counter productive.

Unfortunately I think just sucking it up and dealing with people sometimes bailing is just part of pugging :frowning: On the other hand I think by joining a pug, the courteous thing to do is to try to finish a less than perfect key. Within reason, of course. Obviously there are exceptions, which is why I would be against any sort of punishment in this regard.

Repeat no. 240202 : No system can be created to penalise leaving without it being abused.

I don’t run into many leavers even though I pug quite consistently. When I do have one, it’s usually completely understandable that they leave. Either the group is failing miserably or someone is going out of their way to be incredibly toxic by criticizing someone without any constructive thoughts behind it. Leavers do suck sometimes, but I’m not going to get behind punishing leavers based on zero context of what’s going on.

You should remove your quote, since it violates the exact same “no callouts” rule.

This would be a bad choice because people would be even more hostile with increased risk.

I think you should be able to back fill m+ but anyone who joins after the key is placed will get no reward. So at least nice guildies would be able to help you out of a ruined key.

This is an interesting perspective. The thing is, people with nice guildies are much less likely to have a problem with leavers in the first place. The solution you’re suggesting would have very little benefit to PUGs from which 99% of these complaints arise.

Because in the last 20 of these threads no one has suggested a system that would be automated and only punish the right people and not be abused heaps.

Suggest something that fits those criteria and I will support it. I’ll wait.

I’ll take a little over none.

I don’t get carried Nowise, and I’d be happy to invite you along to a 15 sometime to prove it. I’m never last on the dps meters or first on the damage taken/death meters. I love that your comment has so many upvotes - just shows the toxicity of the WoW community. The fact that multiple players would upvote that based on spec alone is pretty pathetic.

Also, 1947 IO isn’t high enough to call others out for being carried - especially when my IO is 100 less than yours. And seeing how I outdps most high IO players in my range, I think its more than fair to say I’m not carried.

If you’re this whiny in keys, I’d leave too.

Really man? I’m the one being attacked, so I can’t defend myself without being called whiny? Good lord, you’re all toxic as hell.
