Boycotts like this are usually ineffective and only serve as a self pat on the back.

It’s like when those guys on Youtube put out “Lets boycott this Marvle movie!” And then that movie goes on to break box office regardless.

There’s not enough people willingly to back that cause for it to matter.

That’s the sad reality of how it usually works.

If enough people stop buying into it, the message that the publisher sees is “this game/franchise isn’t profitable anymore” and not “we should make this game/franchise better”.

I think these posts are generally unproductive and dishonest, but for once I, myself, havent felt the compulsion to pre-purchase or resub preparing for launch. The initial conversation around Blizz’s want to listen and fix issues had by the community was looking good, but over the last couple months my hype is dwindling.

The movie was said to be essential to understand the ending of the biggest cinematic franchise of all time.
There was no chance people were really going to boycott that unless they didn’t care about the next avengers film

Ironically most of the people who tell you to boycott, also go see those movies themselves to hate watch it, and post a video about how much they hated watching it.

No thanks. Looking forward to shadowlands. Good luck in whatever you choose to play from here though. My guess is you’ll be back when you see the competition.

I’ve had my sub since the month of Vanilla launch. I left the game when Cata came out. The writing was on the wall back then. I came back for Legion because I love Illidan’s story of redemption (that’s the only reason I reactivated my account - to see what happened with him). I missed the entirety of Cata, MOP, and WOD (and from I can tell, I didn’t miss much in the way of content). The only reason I kept my account active after Legion was for Classic. Blizzard has lost millions of subscribers since WotLK. At one time, they used to boast about how many millions of players they had (like 12+ million). They’d post monthly subscription numbers to the public. They stopped reporting such numbers sometime after WotLK because it was barely half their prime (now it’s around 1.7 million subscribers at last look). So to say that “enough people quit and Blizzard will finally listen” is just untrue. Over 10 million have quit since WotLK and no response from them in improving. Launching Classic was an attempt at them finally listening (and look how popular it is). Why are people more preferential to Classic over Retail? There’s an incredibly large player base that would rather play Classic then step foot in Retail. It’s not just the nostalgia, but the mechanics and other things that are wrong in Retail. Of those 1.7 million subscribers, there are about 400,000 active players in Classic according to Blizzard. So, 25% of the subscriptions would rather play a version of the game that is 16 years old versus anything new Blizzard puts out. Add that to the millions that have quit since WotLK and you’ve got a HUGE message to Blizzard. Yet, the developers won’t listen and constantly (and consistently) release a subpar product that subscribers don’t even want to play (so they play Classic instead).

Just resubbed for 6 months. Game is always going to be broken in some way but its cheap entertainment still.
