Any tips for a relatively new PVPer?(started off this season, took a break for raid and now teetering up and down in the mid 1600s)
People say pugging 1800 is pretty easy but i’ve found that not to be the case.
My main is a Ret paladin and I’ve been struggling to maintain partners due to dead pvp communities and just poor timing, would you by any chance have any helpful tips for pugging?
Thank you :).
EDIT: I would say I’m relatively geared, i’m sitting at 248 pvp ilvl, 33% vers out of combat
With that gear you should be able to 1 shot your way to 1800 with a proper burst setup. Find a disc priest or rsham (with earth ele legendary) and mongo someone. Voice helps a lot too.
Seraphim > HoJ > (Wings) Divine Toll > Final reckoning > Finisher > Wake > Finisher > Judgement > Finisher
Typically that’s not the issue, I have the rotation down pretty well, it’s the partner problem. I’ve ran with higher ranked folk who join to drop their rating purposefully, some who just don’t really do much. I guess I have identified the problem
Agreed. This is why I push rating as high as I can early in the season and then just reap the rewards. I have two characters right now sitting at 2100 and they are just parked there for the rest of the season. Haven’t queued any serious arena in about two months minus 3ziez for the lulziez. I dont count that as i just queue with whoever and dont care about the comp.
If I do intend on PVPing next patch, albeit very unlikely at this point in time, I’m most likely going to do the same thing. Start early before LFG just becomes dead or queues get filled up with duelists who lower their ranking intentionally.
I’m pretty lazy to read anyone elses replies so we’re just gonna hope nothing I say is duplicated.
If you’re playing ret, it depends on your bracket. 2s you can kinda mess around with whatever, play with another hybrid is my honest opinion there. If you’re doing 3s, grab a necro war and an rsham and just run things into the dirt.
But as for finding people? Just gotta hope you get lucky. If you aren’t interested in hard grinding PVP and just casually playing, grab a guildie or something and just have fun. Long as you’re both learning every game then you’ll eventually get where you want to go.
Ret is not the best at 2s. You lack MS which is essential for wearing down your opponent in a pug environment. In setup based environment with coms, then your ability to 1-shot with proper CD can shine however.
Honestly on my alts I just find a streamer doing viewer 2s and then in like 1 session I go to 1.8 and get my elite set it’s way too hard to find a healer in lfg
