PUG Raids requiring Insane Gear levels to be invited

Trying to join PUG raid as any 70 W/O T5+ GEAR is like try to get blood from stone.

I try to join Kara run on my Mage… ignored because I have 70 blue gear. Okay… Fastforward 2 week later and I have most Gruul gear + Heroic purples.

Try to join any “badge run” which is pretty much the only kara in LFG, told “u need better gear”. I ask him what gear he expects FOR PHASE 1 raid… no reply.

Same deal with ZA & BT/Hyjal… if its not a GDKP or ur not certain class (Shaman) you’re ignored from most run because you don’t have “good enough gear”… aka gear from current tier.

Why is Required to have Better gear than the raid drops? No wonder GDKPs are popular because they accept all type of player to buy gear to get invited…

Yeah it sucks but when a raid leader can take a guy in blues or a guy in t6 he’s gonna take the geared guy every time. Try making your own raids

You should be able to form your own raid groups.

You seem to have A LOT OF time and you’ve talked about how good manually forming your own group is for the community.

Oh you think it’s bad now just wait when wrath Comes out You’re going to be seen 6K gear score requirements Just to do heroics or.

Naxx 25 man Achievement require Or an achievement that you finished the dungeon before you even have been it for the 1st time.

People can call me crazy but it happened the 1st time the only difference was gear score wasn’t in at the start of the game now it most definitely will.

And before someone comments to me Why would we use gearscore we have logs my reply is this Why would you ask someone for their logs when you can literally just mouse over them and get a high score on their gear to figure out what type of player they are.

Because you know us world warcraft players now were all about efficiency Don’t believe me then why was world buff Meta a thing?

I just can’t imagine why anybody would refuse you a slot in their Karazhan run, Totally-Not-Lemonfront.

A lot of this depends on the mentality of the server too. I noticed that on my horde server, every pug raid is preceded by an inspection in Shattrath. On my alliance server, however, they pretty much take anyone.

And here’s the quirk… I tend to have a lot more success with raiding on the Alliance server.

I wouldn’t read too much into it, however. It’s probably because so many pug groups on my Alliance server faceroll the content that they don’t bother with inspections any more. Almost all pugs can take some undergeared characters and still do pretty well. And by contrast, it’s because pug groups have so much difficulty clearing content on my Horde server that they’re so insistent on gear inspections.

But it does smack a little of Wrath thinking. Apart from the tanks (and mage tanks), Kara and Gruuls/Mags can be easily cleared by a group that knows what they’re doing but is perhaps a little undergeared.

Weren’t you the one saying how great it is to form groups on your own and that a dungeon finder is bad? Don’t you have friends? Go make a group yourself then…?

Because they want to speed through the raid and not carry someone that has sub-par gear for the current phase.

Doesn’t matter if it’s a phase 1 raid it’s what the raid lead wants and so that’s what the raid lead will get.

Yeah, no one is running Kara with low gear these days, you’re just late. No one is going to carry you for free.

Make some friends, maybe they will help you (it may be hard for someone like you making friends), or if that is too hard, pay up to get carried.

Sorry you’re just late the game is about to end and if you’re not geared right now or have a guild/friends, you will not get geared.

If you’re not geared or don’t have gold, you’re not getting into GDKPs.

Because everyone in the raid already has better gear and they are not willing to carry you for free. If you have a guild or friends, they can help you.

Don’t expect others to carry you for free. People don’t like leeches.

Make your own friend. Then you can pick who YOU want in your raid.

this is how people play wow, you can clear full raid in first week of expansion release in blue gear & after few months you need bis gear to be able to join same raid.

because it’s 2022 & no one play to socialize, everyone is playing for purpose and they just wanna get things cleared as fast as they can.

This has been the way from the beginning, its why tight guilds are so important. You’re talking about PUG’s…it’s like a job taking someone with experience and education vs. someone with no experience and no education.
But like other’s said, form your own raid and let people know that all are accepted…after a few wipes and the raid falls apart you will see why they want the most geared. This is why since Vanilla I have never been a raider and chose pvp.

Unfortunately, they are totally fine in pre-screening any member they want. The fact us people willing to organize their own groups are relatively rare, thus they have way more agency over who they want to bring.

If they want to scout for a super overgeared group to achieve their personal goals quickly than more power to them. The fact that they seem to regularly fill their ranks shows you just how large the demand is for people staring pug raid teams.

Ultimately, it’s your own choice. Start your own group and if you can’t, join a guild that fits your time. If pugging is all you can do well, that’s on you to find a regular raid group or find a way to out-compete with your peers for those pug positions.

Remember the days of filling out applications for guilds and raid teams…I had an internet cafe back in the day and I had a regular customer that would come and play one of my pc’s because I had the fastest internet in town and a way better computer than him…he did that so he could remain on the Raid Team after he got a warning about his lag.
@Shanxi I dont know what you thought this would accomplish, with over 200 post I assume you know the forums pretty well. Was this a plea to Blizzard to make it easier to get in a raid? This exact mentality is what has destroyed WoW. QQ

I already do but its still not good atmosophere for Casuals and more annoy creating raid almost every week.
Creating group is good for community, but it should not expect to form almost every raid by themself, i bet you not do it either.
Also is funny Player with 5k forum posts tell me I have a lot of time to spend… Irony much??

Yeah, it really sucks when you have no other options except to PUG and all the PUGs require absolute insane gear levels to do easy stuff. That’s what’s coming in WOTLK without LFD as well. People will demand 6k gearscore for just stupid heroics and heroic acheivements. That’s what you asked for buddy. Better start making those Karas with friends and get ready to get 6k GS for just heroics.

GDKP is Kara is actually a pretty chill time. Unlike current content where you’re expected to have some crazy bidding war the T4 stuff will go pretty cheap.

Farm some normal amount of gold, say 1 K, and give it a shot!

They probably know youre Lemonfront and know better than to have you in the group

The one making a thousand threads on getting rid of LFD isnt able to get into a dungeon kek

There’s a lot of groups on my server that advertise “inspecting at Adal,” and don’t. It’s just a way to screen the whispers you get.
