Pug m+ is dead

Level 12 keys are rare, and even in the prime time of the night there are no more than 10. A key that is replaced and pushed at 11 all night long, just to get a chance to try 12. The same is true on alt, push to 10 for GV, and the player leaves without caring, destroying your efforts for a whole night.

I dont disagree.

But you have to take into consideration how small the player base is at that level.

5.6% of characters have timed all +10s, 2% for +11s, .2% for +12s.

The way M+ is tuned, only a very small % of the player base is going to hit higher keys. Even +9s is only at 12.7%

If there were kinder people in m+ I’d be all about getting this pally in there to tank. But all of my experiences as a tank in m+ have been far too negative.

So, keys above the threshold for every reward except 0.1% title in group fonder are dead?

Yes that’s it.

Essentially high keys are dead. :skull:

It’s almost like people are playing with dedicated groups for the hardest dungeon content in the game…

They put people who hate M+ in charge of M+, nerfed the loot to the point that level 7 or lower keys are useless, yet increased the difficulty, making even low keys terrible to do. In DF, for example, it was trivial to farm level 7 keys to get crests, but in TWW it’s extremely burocratic to run an M+8.

And they should give an award to the genius who thought of combining the WORST affixes in M+ history, which are Fortified and Tyrannical, in M+12. Nobody likes these affixes, and combining the two is simply redundant because the key already scales by itself.

I am actually gobsmacked that 5.6% of all characters have timed every +10 dungeon. I would have guessed less than that number would have cleared +5s.

Not because of the difficulty, but because there’s so many characters that just don’t touch mythics.
Players that don’t push progression; Bank alts; Crafting characters; Exclusive raiders; Roleplay toons; altaholics who push 80 then swap characters; hard stuck players; players that only do delves; and literally anyone who joined the mythic plus race after week 3 and will never get an invite to a key higher than +3 because they haven’t already cleared +5s and pugging keys is basically impossible thanks to the playerbase’s attitudes to progression.

Honestly, if you told me only 5% of players had EVER attempted an M+ dungeon, I’d have believed you.

Turn off party chat and whispers when the key drops. Turn up your music in your headset and do a dungeon.

Bam problem solved.

There comes a point where, outside of overgearing, you need a decent level of communication to time high keys. Pretty much the opposite of what pugs are, it makes sense there wouldn’t be many pugs at that level. That may open up as people get more gear, but keep in mind there’s 0 reason to do 12’s besides rating so pugging becomes even more unappealing.

So because you aren’t seeing keys in the 12 range, M+ is dead?

I think you are seeing less +12 keys because the dungeons are absolutely unforgiving and it’s a waste of time to try to pug it.

What’s the point of pugging 12s when after a few deaths or a wipe, the key is dead?

Better to go with an organized group that can problem solve on voice and figure out what to do better in the next round.

They should scale enemy damage slower than HP and it’ll be a good bandaid until they figure out what they want to do with defensive bloat ruining the game.
