Published Mac requirements for Dragonflight disagree

There are quite a few closely related discussions that lead me to believe that the Mac requirements in a support article published 4 months ago is wrong and the new subscription webpage is correct, even though the latter’s requirements are less strict. Please make it (semi)official and specify which page (if either) has the correct minimum requirements.

My Mac Pro 2009 I’ve continuously updated so that only the bus speed and the original CPU remain “old.” I successfully updated to Monterey and ran it for a few hours until I borked it due to a completely un-WoW-related mistake on my part when I was playing with one of the several drives. Oops. Anyway, if the subscription page is correct, I could go back to running MacOS 10.14.6 with my Vega 64 GPU and 32 GB RAM rather than this, er, barely satisfactory (for WoW) Mac Mini I picked up that will decidedly NOT be satisfactory for my graphic design needs.

I look forward to some clarification on Blizzard’s official requirements and don’t really need further discussion on specific systems or whatnot in this thread.

Thank you.

The subscription page can also account for Classic. IMHO the Dragonflight requirements seems more reasonable to actually play the game without to severe limitations.

The key factors would be GPU age (Metal compatible) and RAM (8GB is already not always enough in some SL areas). For old Macs the OS version could be a limiting factor (Metal, driver versions etc, which is tied to GPU age).

Hey there,

The World of Warcraft: Dragonflight System Requirements article is correct in this case.

The World of Warcraft: Subscription page on the Battle.net Shop has not been updated for the 10.0 client but should be soon.

Hopefully that helps clear things up!

yep, I had to cancel my subscription a few hours after renewing it.
