Public Orders + Minimum Guaranteed Crafting Quality

For the love of all that’s holy, can we please be able to set the minimum crafted quality for public orders? I don’t have all day to spam Trade looking for one of the crafters that managed to exploit their skill up before it was fixed after week 1.

there is a minimum crafted quality built right in - everything you get above that is a bonus.

and with that attitude, I can see why you wouldn’t want to actually talk to people

?? The minimum quality is set to 1 and is unable to be changed on public orders. If I am going to spend 40k on mats for a Lariat I would rather it be rank 5 from someone specialized in necks than rank 1 from a 50 skill JC with no knowledge points spent who happened to have the recipe.

with your attitude I can see why you post from a level 12 character instead the one you play anyway.

that is a minimum

I made a public order for that blue fishing rod and the interface came up 346 I believe and when I got a 358 I was pleased. That would be the typical experience for most people participating in that system. Not everyone in this game is a min/max nor is hung up on minor differences.

You have a guild or personal orders that already have a minimum rank - there is no reason to have three options all like that.

Some of us wanted guaranteed quality without having spam trade for 10 hours.

tell me what makes you think setting a R5 min on a public order is going to get it filled any faster? If someone isn’t interested enough to watch trade chat, they aren’t likely interested enough to check the work orders either.

plus there are some items people would set R5 on and never get the order filled because it can’t be filled right not without insights.

You don’t set the minimum to 5. You set it to 4 and hope for a R5 proc. You’re just here to argue.

I advertise on trade almost daily and I talk to many people about these orders. I spent 15 minutes with a guy the other day because he couldn’t figure out why no one was making his item. Turns out he made it a guild order not a public order. I have had to walk people through this system step by step. A whole lot of people aren’t familiar with this system and you expect them to know when they can set R5 and when they have to set R4?

And if R4 is all you are looking for you should have no problem finding people. I just add a person to my friend list when I see someone who is able to make something I need at a certain quality. I strongly suspect you don’t want to make an effort at all to find someone.

When I go to Mcdonald’s, I don’t order a plain hamburger and hope it upgrades to a Big Mac.

And you don’t order a hamburger on this system either. You order the item you want and if it turns out oversized you have a bonus.

Sorry, I don’t buy lootboxes to gamble on getting the item I want either.

If there is an R4 or R5, noone wants an R1. Stop trying to poorly defend a bad system.

There is 2 other options to set a minimum - all three don’t need to be set up the same and shouldn’t be set up the same.

Standing around valdrakk looking for crafters for hours is not compeling gameplay. Imagine if you could set minimum quality on the order then go play the game.

I wonder if you people realize you would be compounding the problem of a lack of skilled crafters by implementing this system because far too many people don’t realize they don’t need the max quality to do ‘x’ content.

The bigger issue is that rank 5 can only be guarantied by a relatively small amount of crafters who knowingly exploited the bugs early on and received no punishment or rollback.

I find that far more offensive. That being said, not being able to set the minimum quality is just another glaring design flaw in the very poorly designed crafting order system. If only there was an alpha / beta where people could have provided feedback :frowning:

stop with this - this just isn’t true in most cases.

I can make R5 lw gear and I didn’t even specialize into that area.

How to tell me you are an exploiter without telling me you are an exploiter

I’m 100% for this. I’m not into low skilled crafters using my mats and taking a commission that could go to a competent crafter. I’m not here for other people’s skill-ups.

I picked up leatherworking last week and am already churning out rank 5 items.
