PTR Raid Testing?

Is there any potential for raid testing on the PTR for the upcoming Scarlet Raid?

Why would they spoil literal brand new content for the player base.

Lol, the new content releases on Thursday! You’re now asking if there is raid testing? Lol, you probably should have asked about this a few weeks ago.

We are going to get an untested, bug-riddled raid.

Don’t worry—the DDoS attacks will make raiding next to impossible on Thursday. Then Blizz will have emergency maintenance, which will take the servers down for a few hours on Friday—if not most of the day.

imagine avoiding all this with PTR testing

and this is the best decision they’ve made so far. It ruins the game when everything has been solved before content even releases.

You do realize that the content was tested by invited players right. So just because it wasn’t tested publicly doesn’t mean they have it tested by private players.

Where did you confirm that at? Lol

He doesn’t have confirmation, but historically that has happened before.

Blizz does have QA, I just don’t know what they do. They probably do test raids, I just can’t imagine it’s overly thorough testing with small numbers of testers.

But as the guy you responded to said, yes before they have given NDAs to guilds and invited them to do closed raid testing.

I don’t think that has happened in SoD? I wouldn’t know though

I hope not, this is an extremely rare opportunity to go into a brand-new raid blind before all the mega parsers post strategy guides and cheese mechanics that everyone has to follow or get gatekept.

He’s a secret. Most of the mechanics in the game are just don’t stand near “x” player or don’t stand in bad spot. Yet somehow people think doing that is “cheesing” or “leet parse strat” in reality the avg classic player probably shouldn’t get behind the wheel of a car irl.

Well of course, but those private players aren’t releasing guides and videos that spoil the fun and interaction of learning it first hand.

And I’m not opposed to videos and guides; it just sucks going into raids with mansplainers who watched them all, and who fight over trivial details, or are like…THAT IS NOW HOW THE VIDEO DID IT. smh.

They probably did a friends and family testing but for the rest of the public no which if it’s brand new that’s awesome gives folks who raid not knowing what is going to happen makes the game even more fun.

inb4 buggy raid, evade glitches, players getting 1 shot, oh and dont forget the DDoS attacks in the background and a random maintainence right in the middle of peak times

Ptr would ruin the dwarf shaman/undead paladin surprise…

Ptr is up. You just can’t enter the raid

All the other phases had 0 raid testing and had minimal issues, just wait till tomorrow and make your call when it’s release.

and if you are in a guild and play the game for the social aspect vs some messed up dopamine hit, it is going to be hilarious

SoD is a PTR in itself.
