I’ve tried reinstalling, and scanning/repairing, but still it shows Incompatible. I was hoping to log in and test out the housing.
It’s likely the PTR server has been updated but the devs haven’t released an updated client to go with it.
This can happen. PTR access is even less guaranteed than official server access.

I’d understand that if there wasn’t people actively playing the PTR on Twitch.
Which client do you have installed, and which license are you using to login? Unfortunately there’s different licenses for test, and the license you’re using might be for a different version.
Do make sure your app launcher is also updated. Game version is updated also.
There’s also ptr specific forum to check ptr status.

Could they be those on Alpha? I know housing test is coming shortly, so it’s possible development hasn’t released a client publicly and have it intenal only.
Unfortunately development doesn’t report to support the test realm status directly.

They broke it, before they even started it. Classic Blizzard. 
I think I’d rather they fix whatever issue is is they’ve having before the open it up. Otherwise you’d be complaining that they shouldn’t have opened it if it was broken

The phrasing is confusing, but its because they haven’t opened it up to the public yet.
It’s delayed.
Currently, only those invited to alpha test can get in
I hope they either remove or make the new turning system optional during downtime. It was giving me motion sickness and its such a stupid trait on games owned by a certain rival company that a lot of people install an add on to prevent/reduce it. It also made my playing style for DH almost impossible until I remapped the keybinds

Well it’s not up atm. It will always go online/offline for periods during the development cycle.
Not up is not the cause of incompatible.

Currently only alpha realms are up, at least laat night they were, so if you’re not in the alpha, or running that client it is the cause noted in the op. Technically you might have 11.2.7, but the incompatible realms need 12.0 client.
