PSA: Alliance don’t win Alterac Valley anymore, so why does it matter?

For real though, I haven’t been in a winning AV in like 2 expansions.

? i havent won an av since the expansion launch as horde.

to be fair, it needs a rework, but its more so on the players who refuse too interact properly, either socially or have bg chat turned off due too hostility some people have.

but regardless, if done right, its kinda a fun bg. just feels too rushed for a big bg.

What year is this?

uhh… 2021, barely even in the year.
should we be worried?

No… not at all.

Hastily gets back into the DeLorean

Just threw me off seeing AV complaints, even the classic version of it has been killed. I think we should just let it rest in peace now, poor dear.

It was fun once but… i dunno what it is now. PvE race minigame?

charge the last boss and hope for the best game
sounds about right.

Alliance is so bad at this BG. Had all four towers down and they were still turtling in base until horde eventually won

Times changed. this is high chance for alliance win like isles is. Assuming…your team doesn’t mess it up.

Biggest mess up I see in AV is IBT is left poorly defended till it burns and horde zergs the back cap. 8 horde, 3 defenders…that story writes itself out. A mixture of horror and comedy lol.

People have been asking for a new PvE vs PvE battleground for literally more than a decade. We got that stupid PvE nonsense in BFA, which I can’t even recall the name of. Bunch of hp sack mobs, and zero risk of losing.

I don’t understand why it’s so difficult for them to visualize, and implement a battleground where winning revolves around doing pve objectives. Instead of one big dumb zerg rush.

The thing in BFA would have been incredible if the NPCs had actually done damage, and it had been PvP. It’s obvious that it was originally slated to have a PvP angle to it, but was probably scrapped because their obsession with infinite profs caused large PvP engagement to be laggy messes.

Everyone saw that right? Once azerite procs that proceed more procs, which procced corruption junk all went away, suddenly 40v40 PvP became stable again.

Here’s hoping they at least learned that lesson, and never bring back a scenario where one player can have more than a handful of procs going off in a given few minutes.

they didn’t take a GY…I hate it when this happens. Some ain’t got time to do GY. then whine about reinforcements.

could make a small thing that allows gates or certain areas hard to reach for enemy factions to enter without bunker/towers destroyed first, or have the teams giant tree/rock elemental break it down, but i doubt everyone would like the idea.

There are a lot of things you could do.

Gates that must be broken down, massive hp/dmg penalties for being “behind enemy lines”, nearly unkillable NPCs guarding graveyards that only go away once the previous graveyard is captured. It would be trivial to break the zerg meta, but it would be difficult to not get people whining about long games.

Why do I need any towers? Isnt AV supposed to be a RACE on who gets to the other base 1st. Once you reach enemy base, then who can twiddle thumb the most, clearly wins.

RUSH DREK NOW !

But I love you people so much I want to stay in as long as possible… even sabotage victory so we can be together forever!

2 towers worked earlier in the expansion, but from the perspective of a healer, tanks get taken to 20% instantly with 2 towers only, then after spirit link ends everyone dies.

Tank even died through link once…

Has AV changed that much? Last time I played, playing defense and slowly crushing the opponent’s buildings and claiming all the graveyards beat out the riskiness inherent in the zerg.

This is so fast. You mount run to Ally base. Their you get both the towers and gy and wait. Then cd the boss.

But for this you need the majority of your team to zerg with you.
