should pvp be optimized around the play experience of people that have never tried it before, or the play experience of people who focus on it? you’re presenting it as a pretty stark choice. i don’t like the idea of asking blizzard to dent the latter in chasing the former.
I’m aware that damage scales, but it doesn’t even come close to scaling with the health pools
The numbers I see now are almost the exact same as the ones I saw on beta
Everyone keeps acting like I’m just being a delusional liar or something but honestly I’m just telling what the exact experience was from testing
Even now if I’m playing two fast paced comps into another semi competent team, they don’t even have to be another r1 team our games are usually at least 2-3 mins and that’s with everything we’re lacking right now
Balancing should be dynamic just like the advancement of the player base. Currently it’s out of wack and should be adjusted as necessary. When the player base advanced so should the balancing. Stop acting like balancing is only done once per expansion.
what game are you playing where blizzard can be trusted to balance more often than once a season? a wide majority of people whose rating experience doesn’t start with a 1 agree here and in other threads that that’s not the wow we play
We played BfA so we’re all really jaded to be fair
Biggest problems with stuff like sub rogues design wise anyways is it’s just too frontloaded on the very first few attacks when you have blades+everything up
I mean if I were to change anything I’d have blades damage buff lowered and have the damage from echoing rep spread over shs and eviscs
But I think it’s still technically manageable to not die in the opener even tho you will die fast if you use nothing
I just have the mindset that it happens once and it’s the same each time so I just use the trinket immediately, because honestly there’s never much of a reason to hesitate your trinket on stun windows that will kill you if that makes sense. I know it’s frustrating for newer players still but I think people really misunderstand when I say that
No one thinks that it shouldn’t, but you also get to a certain point where you have lower expectations.
I’ve been playing off and on since Vanilla, so I understand fully how blizzard operates, it doesn’t change the fact they balancing should be dynamic, it also doesn’t change the fact that the balance should be healthy at the beginning of a season to adhere to the majority player base so they stick around. Perhaps ignoring the needs of the many for the needs of the few is how you ended up with BFA in the first place.
these statements become an oxymoron if you fail to go on to say “but blizzard doesn’t work on the game the way they should”, which you do fail to go on to say
weird
it’s also not the beginning of a season. right now is preseason. all of the people executing 1shots will hit their maxes next week, and the game pace for people that cannot or will not learn to react in the ways their comps are capable of reacting will go back to normal.
I disagree, I believe the problem lies with the communication from the player base to said developers, you continue to cause confusion and misrepresent the necessary changes which causes Blizzard to tap the breaks on the necessary adjustments. It’s ultimately our responsibility to provide a clear message to their team so they can make the right changes at the right time. Clearly the current balancing is driving players away otherwise you would t have such an out poor of complaints. Work together otherwise you will end up with BFA 2.0. Your choice.
ah yeah, bfa destro was the playerbase’s fault
There were so many universally agreed upon complaints from not just lower rated players but high rated players in BfA and those went unignored, so I just think that’s silly to say
And yet you continue to mystify the problem. Now I know who to avoid in future correspondence, thank you.
How am I mystifying a problem in any way?
I don’t actually know why I bother anymore
This is a common misconception with people who haven’t experienced new expansions. The problem we’re experiencing is the base stats and scaling are set towards end game content and not release.
Stamina increases by 12 for 1 point of it. Where as damage increases 1 strength for 1 attack power, which was changed expansions ago. An example would be crusader strike does 76.5% of Attack power. meaning out of 100 attack power from gear crusader strike will do 76.5 damage.
With that being said a health pool of 1000 and attack power being 100 will gradually increase with the gear. Health pools will jump at a faster rate. 1 piece of gear will have 100 stamina and 40 strength. That correlates to an increase of 1200 health and in an equation of crusader strike it will increase by 40 attack power making it do 105 damage. The problem we’re experiencing is everyone has as much main stat as they have stamina making abilities look like they hit too hard. And on another note by the end of the expansion our health pools will double as well as our main stat, but based on ability equations stamina outscales mainstat. Every ability scales by a raw number and %'s. I hope that clarifies some confusion on what is happening.
cool so I have to wait until the end of the expansion to have a chance at not getting 1 shot. Sounds great!
No… What I’m saying is we just might need to wait a week into the season for pvp to level out. unfortunately the whole renown and gear gated process is how they’re going to tell the story and not let people get left behind. I don’t like it as much as you do but I do enjoy me some warcraft lore.
lore can suck my a$$, I just don’t want to get 1 tapped in arena before I can even reflexively react
Unless you’re a warlock and have built in damage reduction from Mastery.
Seems like a bad idea to let pvp be at its worst when the season first starts. It’ll just make people not even bother, which becomes a compounding problem as the expansion goes on.
I understand that the pace will slow down as we get more stamina as the season goes on, but who besides the most hardcore players will stick it out?
Blizz should just put a blanket damage nerf in pvp for the next 6 weeks or so, reducing in effectiveness each week, similar to how the raids used to get progressively easier each week.
Skirmishes suck, bg’s are rocking.
Playing with priests you had 41k health in beta and that was being capled to 213 ilvl. Locks had 48k.
Renown increases stamina, healthpool will increase, gear will become higher. Just focus on the crap things that oneshot and dont touch anything else. Also nerf drest and bike by 90%, thanks.
